its kinda getting tiresome saw an awesome branch and it quickly ended with just 3 or 4 chapter deep without proper story progression, so i was wondering if its possible to add sorting options from most chapter to least within the choice panel, or better yet, shows how many chapter each choice has, which give readers some idea how much content this path have and whether its worth keep reading

I had some issues early on with the website as a reader.

That said, what I have found best so far; if you are logged into an account you should have the View Story Map option at the bottom of the options. There you can sort and search and keep up to date on the threads, chapters and their respective depth.

It is currently not the cleanest way, but hopefully that helps in the future. Till features like this could made available.

i did try that feature, kinda awesome to find missing chapters ive skipped, but the problem is its structured way too weirdly and deeper chapter just keep extending further and further so you dont even know what branch this chapter belong, personally id prefer reddit approach, with a thin line connecting to relative chapter that you can trace back by following the line, at the same time doesnt move later chapter so far to the right that its hard to locate

It's come up before, and there's no easy solution, sadly. One problem is that link chapters make it harder to gauge the "true" depth of a given branch.

well, is it possible to automatically count how many redirect this current choice have? for example, first choice named 1, first sub choice named 1.1, second 1.2 third 1.3 and so on, even if they all merge next redirect, say 1.1.1, since all of them redirect to this same page its still count up by one, im not sure how current address directory is set up, but theoretically its possible

Not that simple, because a link chapter can go anywhere - even create infinite loops inside a story. And a fair number of stories write branches with the introduction chapter as a kind of index or table of contents.

This has been suggested in https://forum.chyoa.com/threads/display-branch-length-on-option.1454/

There are traversal algorithms that resolve the link chapter issue in simple cases. I imagine potential loops are only a concern in game mode stories, so a perfect count is neither realistic nor very useful anyway - none of the currently displayed statistics are meaningful for every story, so I think it's okay to introduce another one that doesn't necessarily apply across the board. Chapter count, for example, tends to be inflated with game mode stories. To deal with loops, perhaps each chapter (or at least, each link chapter) is only counted once per branch, or perhaps, if a loop is detected, the count simply displays a question mark or infinity symbol.

The approach focusses on the expectations of readers while working against the expectations of writers.
That might lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

If the reader only ever chooses the chapters with more chapters down the line, the other chapters at that branching point will be read less and thus get less Likes and interaction.
So writers might might conclude that those chapters are worse and so they might lose motivation to continue them. Subsequently, branching chapters might be seen as not worth writing.
