The missing words come back when your account is 1 month old. The special categories stay hidden. I think (but do not know for sure) that that's a mistake, because as others have pointed out, they do become accessible by URL: https://chyoa.com/search?type=story&category=power-play https://chyoa.com/search?type=story&category=family https://chyoa.com/search?type=story&category=mind-control
I guess this explains why every story I click on seems in desperate need of an editor, with completely unfinished sentences and missing fragments.
Can someone explain what type of account is needed for viewing Mind Control category ? Everyone just keep posting that needed to be 1 month old, but why that category isn't visible for much older accounts ?
My account here is 10 months old but some category are still invisible or chapters got distracted, so any other ideas ?
You can find the missing categories by following these links: https://chyoa.com/search?type=story&category=power-play https://chyoa.com/search?type=story&category=family https://chyoa.com/search?type=story&category=mind-control Or alternatively by having any story from such categories in your bookmarked/favourited/owned stories and clicking on the hyperlink of the story category from there. It is awkward but I have not seen a better way shown here yet.
Some of the bookmarked/favourited/owned stories are distracted on the hyperlink and name of the story isn't seen in any search.
Sorry for adding more to the spam, but could I also get access? I tried rewriting/and going on some of the links provided in this thread but none of them work.
Unless the site detects you are logged into an account (that is at least a month old), you'll get the distracted problem. So if you're seeing that as an issue, I would first come to the site and login, then use your bookmarks/favorites
I have an old-ass account and I'm mostly logged in, so I almost didn't notice the changes (I did go "WTF is amateur, does CHYOA host videos now?). The list of hidden words is rather restrictive. Example: in one story, a character was complaining about his shitty life, and said, when viewed logged-out: "It's ." When logged in? "It's rough." Maybe some sort of visible censorship ("XXX" or "r*ugh" or "r---h") would look better, so that it doesn't look to the unregistered lurker that the site is composed of terribly edited nonsense. But I admit, I don't know what kind of legal issues the site is trying to dodge. Do what you need to do to keep this sticky smut haven safe amidst the tempests of prudishness.
It will be 1 month officially in 2 more days. Please let that mean I get access to the hidden sections
