Farmer's Daughter I am just a fan instead of the author. BONUS TIME! Breakfast at Connie's The second HyperLink is my favorite thread of this story's weave. The point of this post is that I had a thought of writing a thread or two of them getting to the protagonist's reunion with Connie, Keiko, Loretta, and Val; Instead of the existing foray into an incestuous reunion that has him leaving the farm girls behind... well Keiko might not be a farm girl but... However, there are two options. The first option is without Val joining them. Therefore, my thought is to suggest the author edit in Val joining them just in a different way obviously. The second thread has Val seduce him at the Garage. Yet the girls mention blabbing about it to their childhood best friend, and Val was agreeable to follow them with him into the city. {ultimately} Therefore, it already seems consistent for say Val to have a friend take the back roads and get to her to the rest stop ahead of the protagonist and wait for him. Maybe have the recent asian Amee from the poker/truth/dare games be the one driving Val. Having her join would help stress the differences between Amee and Keiko and define their characters more than simply cloistered asian girls... Not that is necessarily a bad thing... It seems that link/jumping threads to other parts of the story is half way in? I mean it seems maybe authors have the ability to link one thread as the child of another already existing thread. The previous suggestions is the reasoning for my final suggetion that the author link the Rest Stop threads as a child of the end this thread here. The original author, justahack, hasn't been on CHYOO for years and Torg took over editorial control of the story. It was this story that lead me here to CHYOO and I've been contributing to it for the past several years now. The story needs some clean-up with the old linked threads being broken. I'll take your suggestions into consideration as I write more threads.
I haven't gone through everything to update the linked threads. Next time I have an extra hour or two. If you want to create linked threads from one thread to another, you can do those yourself. Just use the #LINKTO page_id method mentioned in other forum posts. Getting Connie, Loretta, Val, and Keiko (and perhaps Amie) into the reunion might be very interesting. Not much room in one hotel room. Three to a bed.
Now that I'm an editor, I went in and fixed the dead links. I also fixed some threads with really bad spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors (the OCD part of me is a grammar Nazi)
Fixing grammar and spelling of threads other people write is far from grammar Nazi behavior, I believe. It is more akin to grammar classical liberal. Difference being a grammar Nazi harasses others about their errors in grammar. Such as I believe the man with no name used to leave me lots of 'comments' about errors in grammar. Personally, I as a positive help to improve my writing but that is a personal choice.
Love this story, so many options and you could spend a lot of time reading it and exploring several options without finishing.
When I Googled "farmer's daughter" it brought me to the original CHYOO and I grew up on the "Choose Your Own Adventure" book as a kid so I started contributing. I've been writing on CHYOO/CHYOA since 2008.
I do like the story, but there are so many threads but a lot of them cut off half way. Is there a main threa sort of thing? Or a guide on how to get to which kinks?
I've contributed to the story for about seven years and Torg for even longer, so that's a lot of threads throughout the years. There's no real main thread. The best bet is to use the story tree to check out the various branches.
Many threads end one way or another, with the MC leaving the farm house, either successfully or unsuccessfully having had sex with the title character. Some continue after he has left the farm house. Many threads also are linked to other storylines. It's a big story with lots of paths to follow.
I am pleasantly surprised to see, after so many years, Farmer's Daughter having grown into something way more than I originally conceived when I typed out the original plot many years ago. Thanks to everyone who has read, contributed, and edited the story.
