Alisha’s words were loud enough for Nea to hear. "You are definitely not the only ones on the lookout for any danger!" The raven-haired woman shot her demon-tainted companion a quick look. "Though you might be right about the rest." She added before going back to what she had been doing before the short exchange: examining the surroundings for any sign of danger. After a few steps Nea leaned towards Lyna and whispered a quick question: "Have you sensed anything about her?"
Helvast looked back over Aria's shoulder at the Owl Man and gave a little chittering of laughter. "Can be any kind of party you want big boy!" Liam gave a cough of laughter and his shoulders shuddered with the force of suppressing his enjoyment. Lyna was still watching as Helvast made the penis jiggle in the air and gave a sigh. "Crude. I have to wonder though, how much of Helvast's actions are an act? While it isn't uncommon for Spirits to differ so much from those they bind themselves to, she almost seems to be trying to keep the attention off of Liam. Its disconcerting to think that she's doing this to lure attention away from him." Glenn would notice when he turned back to Aria that her face was red from blushing and she was trying not to look at the penis floating before her. If he could read her mind it would probably be something like "Don't look, don't look, don't look.... Eeeep! Stop looking! Do they all.... Jiggle like that?" She seemed relieved when he continued discussing his reasons for being a bounty hunter. She was obviously a very shy and innocent girl when it came to matters of sex and romance. "I'm sorry for the loss you have been through, but your mother is very lucky to have a son like you. I never new my parents. The High Priestess raised me after they were killed by the Empire's assassins. She's the closest thing I've ever had to a mother and part of this journey is because of everything she did for me."
Nathaniel gave a curt nod. "Yes. Her defense is our main priority." Then he glanced at Alisha's hands and face for a moment. "I've.... I heard what you did. Protecting Aria I mean. Thank you. I suppose that is why she chose you for this. I should have been there that night and I'm ashamed I left her unprotected." Lyna shook her head. "Nothing other than what you can already see. She's been touched with demon magic. How far it is spread, I cannot tell. It is possible that she has turned away from it. I sense a Spirit inside of her though. It is kind, I can tell that much, so maybe she is trustworthy. For now though, I would be on guard." (About to Roll for an encounter. Anything less than fifty will either be no encounter or a good encounter. 50 will be auto no encounter. Anything above fifty is an encounter. 75 and up is tough encounter or multiple threats, and 100 is mini boss... Rolling: 75!) Liam and Nea would be the first to see them. Dire Wolves, six of them all together. This was a pack of very large and dangerous beasts. The first was clearly the leader, larger than the others and its red fur glistening with blood from a fresh kill. The pack turned its attention towards the group and began making a charge towards them. Liam moved first, stepping in their direction and raising an arm. "Darkness beyond twilight Crimson beyond blood that flows Buried in the flow of time In thy great name, I pledge myself to darkness Let all the fools who stand in our way be destroyed by the power you and I possess... Shadow Dragon!" (Rolling for targets and damage: Hits 2, auto kill.) From Liam's arm erupted a great darkness that sped towards the Dire Wolves. As it flew, it changed into the shape of a black dragon. The lead wolf lept aside, but two of its companions were devoured by the darkness. Their cries of pain were cut short and when the dragon dissipated, there were only bones remaining. Liam collapsed to one knee, his breathing labored and his body shaking with pain. Helvast flew to him and perched on his shoulder. "Should have waited till they were closer. Dummy! Now you can't move!" That left four for the rest of the group to deal with, but fortunately the enemy was still a ways off. (Magic and guns can still hit the enemy next round or you can move in closer to attack and risk a counter attack. Also, who can guess without cheating where I got the incantation for that spell from?)
"I'm sorry for your loss too," Glenn smiled at the faun. "Well, I guess, in the end, we all want to make our parents proud." He then noticed that Aria was struggling to not look at Helvast's long member. It made him a bit pissed, but he also figured he could use it to gauge how curious or even kinky the beautiful faun was. He leaned in to her ear. "Aria, is Helvast's co..., uhn, penis, bothering you?" The bounty hunter inquired in a whisper.
Aria giggled and looked a little ashamed. "Its not really bothering me. Just.... I've never.... Seen one. Well, not so close up I mean. I once walked in on the High Priestess with a lover, but they didn't notice me." Before much more could be said, Liam would have moved to cast his spells.
(OOC: LOL, it seems we've posted at the same time; let's get on with the battle, then) The other direwolves were still a bit far from where Glenn and Aria were, and since he didn't have a ranged attack, the bounty hunter just pulled his sword out of its scabbard and moved in front of Aria in order to block her from any of the monsters. "Stay behind me, Aria," he instructed. "I won't allow those wolves to get near you."
"So she has a Spirit too? That's good to know. One less potential surprise." Nea nodded. Before she could say anything more she spotted movement... "A pack of Dire Wolves! Crap!" Nea cursed as she saw the beasts. "Just six of them. Could be a lot worse." Lyna pointed out, having made a quick count of their enemies. Nea did not get a chance to answer as Liam finished his spell and a dragon made out of darkness swallowed two of the six. "Nice! That makes things a bit easier!" She pointed a finger at the leader. Hopefully if the leader falls the rest will either flee or be easier to dispatch. She thought as a blue glow appeared at the tip of her finger. A moment later a bolt of deep blue water shot towards the large beast...
(Roll: Hit! Damage: 5, medium damage instead of full power) The spell hits the beast in the side, but the big wolf (These things stand as tall as most of the group...) continued its charge. Aria smiled Glenn's back. "You be my shield, and I'll be yours." She put her hands together and began to pray. "O Guardian of the Wilds Protector and Provider Gift us, your servants With your protective hands Bark Armor!" Armor made from bark began to grow on Aria, Liam, and Glenn, granting them all a bonus to their defenses. (There has been too little movement so far, so Liam's movements are still restricted for 3 turns. Waiting on more players before advancing the wolves.)
"Yes, you should have. Try not to fail like this next time" Alisha's tone was cold as ice. She didn't like when anyone glanced at her claws-fingers in such way. " Speaking about the next time. It is your chance to prove that you are not worse than other males who want to get a chance with Aria" Alisha wasn't rushing to the battle. She never considered wolves to be dangerous for the group and opted to stay outside and study her current companions.
Darina grunted to herself. Dire Wolves. This...could be difficult. She drew her rapier in one hand, and a pistol in the other. It wouldn't hurt to be ready for them, if they charged. Taking aim at the wolf Nea had targeted, she fired.
(OOC: Hey guys, I'll reply later today before I head to work, or in about 7 hours or so. Great stuff!)
(Rolling Darina's shot: 8 CRITICAL! Rolling extra: 4) The lead Dire Wolf takes the hit..... Right above its front right leg. The bullet rips through, causing the wolf to stumble and fall. The rest of the remaining wolves run past it, ready to strike. Alpha: Critically wounded leg. Mobility down and less than half health. Lost a turn. Wolf B: (Rolling: 7) Targets Glenn with a powerful charge. Aria's bark armor protects him, but is it strong enough? (Rolling: 94>50) The armor breaks under the powerful blow and Glenn is pushed back. His back comes into contact with Aria as she tries to catch him and he feels her tits squish into his back. (Light damage) "Are you ok Glenn? I'm so sorry! My spell wasn't good enough!" Wolf C: (Rolling: 5) bypasses Aria, Glenn, and Liam and heads straight for the back group. It sees Alisha first and rears back to swipe with its claws. (Rolling: 45) Fortunately for her, it slips on some leaves and slides, making its claws go wide. (No damage) Wolf D: (Rolling: 1) This wolf has circled around and is closing in on Aria! It comes in with its jaws ready to grab at her leg. (Rolling: 94>50) The bark armor doesn't hold for her either and Glen would soon find himself without a prop as Aria was dragged backwards. She screams in pain as her leg is brutally pulled. The beast is trying to drag her towards the woods! (Light damage, but captured....) Nathaniel begins to move! (Rolling: 1) He targets wolf B (Alpha still to far for close combat) and rushes to attack. (Rolling: 27) The wolf sees him coming and evades! (Liam move counter: 2 turns)
"Aria!" Glenn yells after the beast that's trying to take the redheaded faun away. He charges after them and slashes his sword at Wolf D's eyes, trying to relieve the beast of his vision. (OOC: just for curiosity's sake, would the wolves try to "mate" with Aria if they suceeded on capturing her?)
"Stupid beast!" Nea cursed as she saw that the alpha wolf continued its charge despite getting hit by her spell. She was about to cast Water Bolt again when Darina’s shot crippled the beast, much to her pleasant surprise. There was no time for celebration, though, because the other three continued their attack. The good news was none chose to attack her. The bad news was one targeted Aria and not only broke through her armor but actually started dragging her towards the woods! "Crap!" Nea cursed again as she switched her target from the alpha to the wolf that had attacked Aria. Not wasting any time she cast Water Bolt again and a bolt of deep blue water shot towards the large beast… just as Glenn attacked it as well... (OOC: Slight edit to account for duskford's post.)
(OOC: Giving the other players time to post before going ahead with wolves again but to answer duskford's question.... I was thinking she would be a snack, but since she is an animal morph I suppose they might be interested, but more so if she was some kind of canine. ) (Rolling for both attacks: 9 and 5) Glenn's attack cuts across the beast's face and he is successful in blinding wolf. It pulls back in pain just as the water bolt hits the wolf's side, causing it to stumble. Did the wolf release Aria? (Need more than 50 to have dropped Aria: 13....) Not only has the wolf continued to hold on to the girl, it takes off faster, trying to escape more so now that it is blinded! If it isn't dropped quickly, it could run off into the forest with her! Aria is in too much pain to fight back effectively. Wolf D: Currently blinded and with just over half HP
Glenn almost shouts in glee as his attack hits its target, but the Wolf D actually tries to run off with Aria again. The bounty hunter runs after him and aims a slash at the side of the monster's neck.
Alisha didn't expect that everything will escalate so quickly but now she was forced to fight one on one with a wild beast. She made a step back and started to slowly read a spell, asking her spirit for icy protection. Tainted girl pretended to be a prey frozen by fear but she planned to use the force of wolf's charge on her and great him with claws.
Darina grinned ferally as her shot tore through the Alpha's leg. She holstered that pistol and grabbed another one, observing the battle around her. What she saw next worried her. Aria had been grabbed and was being drug into the woods. Losing her principal this early would be...bad. In more ways than one. She swore, aimed at Wolf D, and pulled the trigger.
