Trista know now she risk a lot her health but she didn't care. She use her both hands and create Igni concentration fire on head of navigator. "Little help here!!!" She scream feeling burning pain in her veins.
Lutz did not really know how to answer it, so he chooses to be honest. "I enjoy stripping power from strong, noble women, breaking them, torturing them, making them beg. I enjoy the rush of power it gives me. I enjoy their desperate filled with pleasure attempts to please me, and their foolish hopes that I would spare them, even when they have their heads on the chopping block." He paused. "I regret not being able to keep some of them - but I am a professional, and I will not forfeit my assignment for pleasure." He sighed. "With my looks and my reputation, I never had any chance for a different kind of job." he finished, observing the woman, analyzing what kind of effect his speech had.
Crap, that's not good! Varrin cursed as he saw the beasts that had just arrived through the portal. Hearing Trista's scream he moved to help her, hoping to knock out or kill Caranthir before the creatures attacked.
@asddas193 @unisol_gr44 Trista sees the glow of quen disappear, and her own vision begin to go foggy, as she raises her hands. She feels her veins boil as the fire spreads from her hands, travelling the short distance to hit Caranthir directly in the face. The navigator reels back, trying to protect his remaining good eye as his helmet rapidly heats up. He manages to protect his eye, but is utterly unprepared to defend himself as Varrin approaches. Caranthir had a layer of ice protecting his neck, but with Trista's sign, the ice has mostly melted, allowing Varrin's steel to stab upwards beneath the helmet and into Caranthir's throat. The rider of the Hunt gives a disbelieving gasp, before he begins to choke, and goes limp, still impaled on the end of the sword. Trista feels an adrenaline burst of satisfaction as her enemy goes down, but a bolt of excrutiating pain sends her to her knees, cutting the victory short. From the portal, two more hounds of the Wild Hunt step forward into the chamber, summoned by Caranthir right before he died. With him dead, the four already there will be the last. With the caster dead, too, the frost spell begins to dissipate, the temperature slowly normalising.
"I see." She nods, not expressing much emotion at his answers. "I expected as much. And me? Would you do the same to me, if given the chance?" She stops him before he answers. "The truth. I'm not trying to hear about how loyal you are."
"Beasts?" Mirellia groaned as she readies for a fight. She carefully watches the creatures' movements, ready to react at a moments notice. "Khh. Hopefully non-silver weapons work." She said to herself, waiting for a chance to get one of the beasts alone.
"If you would fall and be defeated, and the new liege would decide so, I would not hesitate in delivering just that." Lutz answered truthfully. Yet he gave an answer in such a way, he couldn't be faulted for treasonous thoughts.
Trista feels satisfaction as Navigator was dead, but she wasn't able to stand up any longer. Legs break under her, she fall on her knees and lie on the ground. As she saw coming hounds, she only managed to grab the sword, but she have no more stamina to move up. "Sorry guys... I don't get it..." She wisper quietly, as she only rise her sword to last stand protection.
With Caranthir dead Varrin gripped his sword tight and turned to face the four hounds. He wasn't sure if a steel blade would be effective against them, but he did not have much choice. “Anyone have any ideas?” He asked his companions.
She strokes her Chin. "A fiend is no Childsplay. I will take care of it though for lets say....800 Silver" she crosses her Arms.
She gets her chance, as one of the hounds leaps at her. Mirellia spots that though it's surrounded in a tough hide, there are many places where vulnerable bare flesh is exposed A hound leaps at Varrin before he can even finish the question, but moments before it collides with him, it begins to float through the air, thoroughly confused. Varrin isn't sure why, but then he sees Isabella with her arms raised and a smirk on her face. The hound, levitating, is still dangerous, fangs snapping when Varrin gets close, but its far less capable of defending itself. Going for the staff pays off for Ard. As the creature leaps at him, Ard kneels down to pick up the fallen staff, and the creature sails over his head. As Ard grips the staff, it comes for him once more. A hound goes to kill her as she's nearly defenceless, but is stopped at the last moment by Gustav, leaping into the fray. As it goes to bite Trista, he stabs his silver sword through its mouth, killing it. He holds out a hand to Trista. "You okay? No time to sleep!"
Dodging the best she could as the beast leapt towards her, Mirellia takes note of its many vulnerable areas. And once it pounces toward her again, she uses the Aard sign to stop it in its tracks, before moving in to stab the bare fleash on its neck.
The staff was sturdy and spiked enough to use as a weapon, so Ard used it to defend himself from the attacking hound, aiming to slam it into the creature's maw as it leaped at him.
“Thanks!” Varrin gave a quick nod to Isabella, then focused on the hound, looking for a weak spot he could attack. After finding one he struck, attempting to pierce the beast with a quick thrust of his sword.
Trista take hand of Gustav and with his support managed to get up. "Next time... I will leave mages.... To a mages..." She said putting steel sword on her back and taking her silver sword to hands. She made battle position, ignoring pain and sickness from all her body. Last time push.
"Then I'll make sure not to put myself in such a situation." The carriage stops outside an elegant farming estate, probably owned by a noble of some sort. "I appreciate your honesty." Again, her expression is unreadable.
There's some ferocious haggling involved, but eventually the man relents and agrees to 800 crowns. "Fine, but only if it's properly dead. I don't want to see you bringing me a bit of its horn as 'proof', and then see it attacking a trade caravan the next time I go into the swamp."
Gwyhyr pierces through the creature's flesh, after the aard spell sends it reeling back, and it stops moving quickly, Isabella lifts the creature up above Varrin's head, exposing the unarmoured belly, and Varrin stabs it through the heart, before it stops moving. Isabella releases the spell and the dead monster falls to the ground, before the sorceress goes to one knee, clutching her stomach in pain.
Though Ard has no ability to use the magic imbued in the staff, Caranthir's weapon is well suited to melee combat, and so Ard easily slams the the tip into the creature's jaw, knocking it over. The beast is still alive, but needs several moments to stand after taking the blow. Looking around, Trista sees that all but one of the hounds are dead, and the one remaining is at Ard's feet, knocked down by his staff. "You going to be okay?" Gustav gives an expression of concern.
