@asddas193 Carius shakes his head. "Not to my knowledge. Just your ship, that patrol craft, and Byzantion Station. My reports indicate that everything else was clean."
Yannika nodded in contemplation before she stated. "If you believe it would help Commander, I would be happy to attend to your men and bolster their resolve."
Eanne made a note of where Sitra's room was, but did not want to bother her any more than necessary. She did not have anything she needed to discuss with Chernobog, so she ignored his office. That left only two options. I'll check out the room I have been given before trying to approach Amara. She decided as she headed for her room to take a look inside.
"That could be useful." Gamba nods. "Though if Xenephon's agents spot you headed to the barracks, they may figure out what's happening and try to stop you. Attacking the emperor's agent is foolish, but if you're already set on destroying them, then they have little to lose."
"Commander Gamba by the will of the gods I am committed to do whatever I must to save this world and its people. If Xenephon wishes to force the issue I have every confidence that my escort can deal with whatever the mage has planned."
Heading to her room, she sees that it's elegant and understated, like much of the mansion. It has everything she might expect, plus another thing: Amara. The naval captain sits on Eanne's bed, looking her up and down with a cocky smirk. "Took you long enough."
Eanne raised an eyebrow at the unexpected guest. “Captain Amara! What a surprise! To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?” She asked in a polite tone of voice as she checked out her busty guest.
@unisol_gr44 "I see. That leaves little to work with." Vizelle pondered, "The best course I can think of would be to investigate the worker's death. Unless the Admiral has a better plan?" She asked with a warm smile.
"Thank you Commander." Yannika curtsied "Your offer is very welcome." Yannika gave her sergeant a signal to ready his unit and follow her and the commander.
'Hmm, so it might be an assassination attempt on me specifically? How troublesome,' Xavier grimaced, 'Always a warm welcome when travelling to the capital.' 'Yes, that seems like whoever was ultimately behind the aliens getting in to the crates might've tried to tie up loose ends by murdering their accomplices,' Xavier nodded.
Amara crosses her legs and continues to look up at Eanne. "Personally, I'd like to know what exactly your plans are with my father and sister."
Light leaves, and Perrygood voices no objections, so Gamba begins to escort Yannika and her men outside. Despite the weather, it's warm outside, the great towering furnaces heating the city and its occupants, the wall shielding them from the bitter cold of the wind as well, and Yannika feels a bead of sweat forming on her brow. She and her guide are hardly inconspicuous, given the twenty gold armored men trailing around and behind her, and Yannika feels the eyes of most of the civilians on the streets drawn to look at her. Gamba leads her through the city's industrial heart, where the flames of the furnaces and factories make the air uncomfortably hot, then past through an open town square, and then to the ice wall, where a military barracks sits. Spoiler: Awareness Roll D100: 27 (Fail) Yannika doesn't notice anything amiss, as she's momentarily distracted by a street preacher who hurls obscenities at her, on her way to the barracks. Heading inside the barracks, Gamba calls the men to attention, having them form up in an indoor auditorium, which Yannika assumes is usually used for medal ceremonies. "Men! The emperor's councilwoman, a priestess of the Holy Church, wishes to speak to you!" He leads Yannika onto the stage, below which about thirty soldiers have gathered. She sees surprise on most of their faces, but hostility on some, as well.
"If that's where you'd like to investigate, I can give you the address of the victim's home, where he was murdered, and of the Logistics Corps' headquarters, where he worked." The Emperor nods to his councilors.
“Plans? Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have any special plans for either. I met with your father for business reasons, nothing more – I'm sure he'll tell you the details later. As for your sister, I spoke with her for a little bit and she seems like a nice girl, if a bit introverted – not that there's anything wrong with that. Still, I like her and would like to be her friend.” Eanne gave an honest answer – there was no reason to lie. “I hope that answered your question. Now, why are you really here? I doubt you came to visit me just to ask me about my plans...” She asked a question in turn and crossed her arms under her breasts, which served to emphasize her ample bosom.
"That would be most helpful, your majesty. We can investigate together, or split up, what do you say, Admiral?" Vizelle said, giving the emperor a sultry smile, making sure the Admiral didn't see it.
"So your intentions are innocent?" She narrows her eyes. "I'm here out of curiosity. I want to know what kind of person just entered my father's home."
'Perhaps going together would be better,' Xavier said, 'If we split up, we might miss something that would only become obvious with the information the other has found.'
“Well, you might be pleased to learn that you worry too much – not that I blame you, I'm sure your family must have enemies. But I am not one of them, I have no ill will toward any member of your family.” Eanne reassured her guest. “So try to relax and not be so stiff just because I am here.” She added a moment later.
