Stories with streamers\youtubers

I am a bit worried about the recent Chyoa trend involving various content creators. Maybe more than a bit

While I understand that it is a subset of "fuck a celebrity" type of fantasies and don't judge anyone or anything like that but, IMO, this is a huge can of worms. Celebrities, like pop singers or Hollywood stars, aren't really viewed like real people, more like a symbol.

But having a story with a twitch streamer is very, very, very similar to linking to some girl's Facebook page and saying "hey, here is a story in which this girl is fucked." I hope I don't need to explain why this is not OK?

The difference between Pokimane and some random girl is only the number of subscribers\followers.

Lets also not forget that those content communities have large, active internet communities. And they may get VERY unhappy with chyoa once they discover this kind of stories and this may bring problems to this site. When some Emma Watson fan finds yet another "rape Emma Watson story" they will shrug "Another weirdo dreams to fuck a celebrity" and go on.

But when we are talking about content creators, especially in interactive media like Twitch, it becomes way more personal. It becomes way closer to " a story in which a person I personally know is raped."

Feels like a sensible concern, especially for the part where shit hits the fan(base) of said streamer, though I don't see very much the difference between the 'proper' celebrities and streamer or whatnot.

I do not know this environment almost at all I confess, so my view could be biased here, but I think that being famous is being famous, whatever is the way you used to reach fame.
And with fame come all the strings attached, like it or not.

Deal there will be probably a few(a lot?) less famous streamers with a lesser following that are just borderline famous and you wonder where is the limit, yeah, but I don't see in general streamer to be that much 'closer' as you said, that's just the illusion they want to give to their average follower.

That being said, I'm not overly enthusiast of celebrity stories to being with (though I once tried to write one in secret), I find them to be rather unhealty, so...

Also I have no idea why writing a fiction where Chloe Moertz is raped is legally ok, I really don't.

I'm not even keen on the fuck-a-celebrity stories tbh. Its still real people, and there's people who know them that might read this stuff. Genuinely wouldn't want any real people to be upset by any of this. And definitely dont want any multi-millionaires suing my ass off for it either.
Its not even that hard to create fictional simulacra if you want to do the celeb kind of thing.
I did actually run out of steam a bit on one of my stories, where the protagonist is tasked with impregnating every woman on earth.
When he reached hollywood I thought, now he has to start fucking celebs, but I dont actually want to name anyone.

Yeah, I have the same feeling with those real-life celeb stories. I understand the idea of fucking a movie star or singer could be a thing that turns on many people but I don't see why to use real-life celebs for that unless the writer is doing a self-insert story which means he is focusing on what is his fantasy more than on writing a good story. But a story using fictional celebs could be as good as a one with real-life celebs or even better, because the writer has more choices to create that fictional celeb, just like on a movie or TV show where there is a character who is a celeb is never a real-life celeb, is fictional. If the writers of CSI can make a 30 minutes chapter with a murder of a fictional celeb from a fictional TV show I believe the same could be done in erotic stories.

I also think that most streamers aren't too far from traditional celebrities - the average member of youngest generation today could probably name more Youtubers than Hollywood actors. I wouldn't be opposed to a new rule against both types of stories.

I honestly feel there should be a push for stricter control on stories as a whole. There’s too many cases of people making content blatantly against the rules with gore, vore, and whatever else and it’s shrugged off because “Other people did it and they didn’t get in trouble.”

We already allow plenty of content with minimal restrictions from users and expectations that the few rules the site does have with content should not be viewed as optional guidelines or even unreasonable.

People should have to face actual consequences to the content they produce. Nothing is going to be for everyone, but what a minority of people enjoy shouldn’t be at the extent of every other user’s enjoyment.

Nothing obligates you to read content, you don’t like, but much of the content people complain about should, altogether, never have been allowed in the first place. But it is.

I think real names should at least be off-limits.

    You know the disclamier :

This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.

It should be baseline for every story.
Deal, if the author manages, it should be still be fair game to make a reference to an existing celebrity, either by a physical description or else, but it shouldn't be THAT blatant as to write the name in capitals in the title.

Plus I love silly versions of famous names

Use of other folks written works is copyrighted for author's death + 70 years by default, so even though folk are writing "fan fiction" with Marvel characters et al, they could be in the shit if Disney went after them. (but you're fine if you want to write a Sherlock Holmes porno version)

I guess if CHYOA arent banning it, their default position must be that they are not the content creators, so if a real life celeb or someone who is literally getting screwed over wants to go after someone, it should be the author.

Not really. Transformative non-commercial fan fiction does not infringe copyright laws. And if anyone will be in trouble - it will be one who hosts\distributes not the author.

Also, if Disney will sue someone for porn with Marvel characters, that means they will be publicly saying "We may want to sell adult content with these characters and your work(s) hurt our potential market."

Wait, how did we end up talking about banning the use of fictional characters?

Besides I think all Disney could ask is to take down the story, as long as you don't make a profit out of it. No big deal, really, and I guess they wouldn't even bother as the resulting clamour could be worse than leaving things as they are.

If you find any rule-breaking chapters, please report them. Remember, moderators don't check every new chapter, just every new story. The only users doing any 'shrugging off'' are those that read such content, knowing that it violates the rules, without reporting them.
They could also argue on the grounds that it hurts their brand's 'wholesome' image, which I believe Lucasfilms has done in the past. However, considering it's Disney, they don't really need an excuse.

Disney is more likely to add that kind of thing to their "show this to the new creators" folder. :p

Though to stay on topic, I do think there's a line between porn of a character that happens to be played by an actor and porn of the actual actor. And Streamers may sometimes exaggerate parts of their personality for their audience BUT they are still actual people so I feel they're off limits.

(You could probably get away with V-Tubers though, since that's more based on the characters created for the avatars... but that's a whole other can of worms.)

Companies are smart enough to know that the fact their characters are being sexualized out there on the internet is a good sign of their popularity and has more chance to influence positively their revenues than not.

That being said, they will never admit that, especially Disney which on the surface has taken up the mantles of some progressit battles and which has an image traditionally tied to content for kids&families.

They will close an eye as long as they are permitted to.

So... this is a regular celebrity, rate how much you find this arousing or disturbing in %.

I find it... weird and childish. I don't understand how someone can be aroused by such a lousy photoshop.

not my thing either. I dont get the Fake celeb pic thing - but I dont get a lot of stuff that folk are into. Feet for instance, or Futa.
Come to think of it, I am not aroused by anything starting with the letter F. Must have been a bad sesame street episode in my childhood.

Yeah. I personally wouldn't be comfortable using a celebrity of any type in a story here (male or female). I've read too many real life stalker stories that having a real person attached to the story ends up creeping me out.
I've started a reading a few where the premise sounded interesting, but I always end up abandoning them at some point when it got to be too much. Fictional characters (even when heavily identified with a real life star) don't bother me the same way though.

I'm not so sure if I'd ban the stories though. This is a gray area I haven't thought about too much and am not sure how 'real' the problem is. I will say at least an A-lister probably has security, I'm not sure what (if any) a popular Youtuber would have.

So count me as a maybe? Yeah, I'm helpful like that I guess :)

I don't find it either. That one just looks so fake to me, that it took me a minute to register what they were trying to do there. That said, I normally move on the moment I see a photoshop in a story. Something about the 'good' ones just rubs me the wrong way.

You know of that thing they show in thriller movies were the psychopath cuts the pictures of his victims, sticks them over other pictures or cuts off the eyes?
That's the vibe it gives me.

I mean, isn't it better to jack off to a plain lingerie catalogue like in the olden days?

Anyways, I want to come clean. I still have a draft of a celebrity story about this person

I don't know if you know her, she's pretty famous in my country.

I must admit the reason why I began writing that story was that I couldn't stand her. I still can't.
And well, it was also because as you can see, she I kind of hot...

It wasn't a self insert fantasy or something like that, it was kind of a way to 'exorcise' her I think.
But now I don't want to find an excuse, It was bad.
