Nowadays, most websites use a framework and a number of third-party plugins. So does CHYOA.Any third party solutions are beyond our control and could be removed from service at any time.
Well, I'm not quite familiar with lit so I don't know the chat feature over there. You are quite correct, I had not thought of the possibility of open source software, but let me ask you this: would that be any better than what Literotica has, which everyone apparently hates?
If users prefer one thing over the other, fine.Of course, there is the challenge of letting people on lit know about it and drawing them away from lit and to here.
But I don't think we should actively "draw" users away from lit.
Isn't this site inspected regularly to make certain it doesn't get shut down by some illegal postings?Agreed, due to Friedman's wholesale import that started the site we're all on very shaky legal ground over here and Lit is much bigger and better funded
If you host a lot of user-created content, you mainly have to rely on reports.Isn't this site inspected regularly to make certain it doesn't get shut down by some illegal postings?
From my experience, it is important to have at least one regular who is online "all" the time.Well you kind of need to have some kind of big initial push of "hey this is a thing now!" otherwise you end up with the death spiral of "no one knows about the chat so they don't go on it and because they don't go on it it is empty so no one chats and so no one has a reason to go on and so and so forth."
So one way or the other you would need to do some advertising outside of the site itself to attract people to it.

All chat rooms I've been in so far died after this person was off for too long.
So it would rather make sense to inform CHYOA user about it who could use it to collaborate on stories.

userAre you talking about a moderator or Friedman or an actual user?
