"Ladies and gentlemen, people of all intergalactic species. Allow me to present to you, Paradico's Queen of Retro Analog, Ms. Belleante!"
A roar of applause and cheers could be heard within a live broadcast performance studio that was being broadcasted across the galaxy on the galactic net. It was a grand stage that was dappered up elegantly that would match even mid-tier Aravi Trade Princes. There was a background of the magnificent skyscrapers of Paradico with its impressive hovercraft traffic darting between the peaks of metal and glass.
Coming onto the stage came a Craoker woman, this "Belleante". Of course she had given up her traditional name for something more fanciful, to impress the more numerous demographics of Humans and Grey that got into galactic music business. Craoker singers and musicians were one of a kind, after all. She was dressed richly yet practically so her moist skin didn't ruin it, she went to the center of the stage and waved to everyone as she went to the microphone stand.
Smiling, she had said, "Thank you all for welcoming me, once again. I just came back from my tour to the Horizon world ship." Before she could finish, she was interrupted by another roar of applause and chuckled to herself, "Funnily enough, that was the reception I had there too. It was so grand and beautiful...it can't top Paradico's charm that's for sure. And it was there I realized something...forgetting how long they have been around now and how much influence they carry...I have never had the opportunity to be around Humans. Did you know long ago before they lost their home they sent a satellite with all these media pop-culture stuff of their early times to show aliens what Humans were all about?"
There was a bit of chuckling in the audience but Belleante stopped them, "Now, now...it's not that silly. I find that beautiful, in a way. But I mention it because, guess what? We found that sattelite and I saw a few of the things in there myself while at Horizon. It opened my eyes, and my ears! I searched through all sorts of things Humans brought with them when they evacuated and found some beautiful music that even made me cry. You just can't beat the sweet, satisfaction of non-digital compositions. So I hope you all enjoy this number I picked out tonight. How about we hit it as I tell you, my fans, what always came to my mind when I think of my home and went to get away from my troubles? Enjoy, my fellow Paradisians!"

Paradico, one hell of a world-sized space station hanging on the edge of Fringe territory bodering Alliance space. Many are drawn to its appeal, like its some big diamond star in the sky just waiting to be taken. Asides from the world ship Horizon, it's one of the top visiting destinations in the galaxy filled with culture, riches, and every desire you can imagine. The PR for it is good, as some of the largest mega-corporations in Alliance and Fringe space make their home here and enjoy the safety it provides thanks to the Overlord Security Mainframe that keeps the law on the upper levels, where the rich thrive and live the good life.
However, the privileged class on the upper levels are the only ones able to make it easy. Sure, they play their games of monopoly, corporations, and high-class politics. But they only make up ten to fifteen percent of the population that makes up Paradico. Once you go below the pearl encrusted gold and silver skyline, you enter the domain of the less savory...the dog-eat-dog underworld that scurries in the damp darkness beneath the light of the Olympus above.
The Underworld of Paradico is a disgusting world where the oppression of the corporations are plain, and the suffering of the disenfranchised is maginified. Rejects from the experimentations of the above worlders trickle in to futher pollute the population, sometimes even citizens from down here would wind up missing for who knows what reasons.
The Underworld is built atop mass piles of scrap, garbage, and lethal waste that are home to Zasarian and Nemura scavengers, using the abandoned factories as bases of operations. The streets of the Underworld are rife with gang warfare and organized criminal syndicates. It is not often you see the homeless and the drug-addled running from a fight from the fueding Goz and Canid gangs, or see a bar torched by the Grey Syndicate.
This is the reality of Paradico. A tourist trap of a space station that claims all your credits and worth, then once you are used up, you either leave or wind up crushed beneath the heel of the wealthy. But, it's not all that bad admittedly...several individuals have made quite a living here, working for credits for some extra muscle or other "odd jobs" that need to be done.

The livestreamed event of Belleante's performance rang throughout all of Paradico, even in the Underworld. Sadly, no one could change any of the channels, as Belleante is one of the galaxy's biggest celebrities and she was a native Paradisian. Everyone was forced to hear it as it echoed in the air, through all the bars, in the mandatory broadcasting screens in the streets.
Even at a very busy bar in one of the upper sections of the Underworld. This one was special for this occasion. The patrons were stiff and usnavory types, with pirates, bounty hunters, assassins, smugglers, and all sorts of other characters had found their way into it. It was a rather famous bar that people who did unsavory jobs would go to to get assignments and jobs. If they could make it here, they could make it anywhere.
And even now, certain individuals had received a call from an anonymous employer to come to this specific bar. Even more so, they had to arrive at a certain time, at a certain booth. It would be a rather isolated booth at the far end of the bar. Who knows what these individuals would be offered?
It is with these characters, that we allow our story to begin.
