Really Really Experienced
Been thinking of making a naval-based erotica, but the mind keeps going blank.

At least, not one where it involves a giant octopus.

If it helps, I kinda want to make something that involves a female captain of a ship, but that's about it. It's too easy to have her in a losing-ship fight, have the enemy ship board her ship and take her as prisoner, but that's too lazy.

All of this just for a one shot.

And if anyone's curious, I suppose I'll provide an illustration.

So there is no octopus? Pity.

You could make the female pirate be like Dread Pirate Roberts, so she took the mantle after the previous, but she didn't really kill him, he just wanted to retire and feigned his death.
She plays the bad guy, but behind the appearance she is sensible and good-hearted, but she can't really let her crew know or they would surely mutiny.
Also, if anyone on the ship gets a whiff of her true identity (daughter of an admiral?), she is toast.
She is looking for someone (the killer of her father? the kidnapper of her sister or mother?), and despite being the hero, she will stop at nothing to find this person.

I actually shared this concept with a friend of mine.

He told me to fuck off and didn't speak to me the entire day.

Or at least, I think you're referencing Bartholomew Roberts, who was an actual pirate which, I think, had something of that nickname.

A while back, I thought of something involving a Captain's Daughter.

Now I understand that the Captain's Daughter actually means something completely different, but I thought that the pun was too obvious and disregarded that.
 
Quite a few directions you can take this.

Naturally, my mind goes towards femdom lol

But a more regular adventure story with sexy stuff happening along the way doesn't sound too bad either, but since you want it to be a one shot hmm...personally I feel like if you put so much effort into a unique setting making it a one shot seems like a waste.


If you want inspiration, I highly reccomend reading wilparu's The Steward. Fantastic story all around.

That doesn't seem so bad an idea. Maybe the enemy could be octopus people. There's all kinds of things you could do with that concept.

The goal of this is a single scene? I think it'd be interesting if she meets either another pirate captain or a naval officer, and seduces him in an attempt to steal something: a piece of treasure map, a blank pardon, etc. Of course he would have something he wants from her besides the obvious, so there would be sparring involved, verbal or otherwise.
 
That pic doesn't put to mind someone who'd lose a battle and get captured right away. Look at her: she's about to be attacked by two armed guys and she's so unconcerned by it that she's casually finishing her drink first. She's strong, sexy, and comfortable with her sexuality. That doesn't necessarily make it a femdom story, but she's definitely no submissive either.

Here's my take: new guy joins the crew and meets the legendary but secretive captain. On their first job, something goes awry (good word), but he ends up saving her life and they get away. The crew celebrates a successful take. Later that night, she goes into his quarters, stark naked. She wakes him by putting a knife against his throat and makes him swear not to breathe a word to anyone. Afterwards, she thanks him by giving him the ride of his life.

Maybe she lost BECAUSE she was drinking. Alcohol does impair your judgement which would make it easier too defeat her.

Twas only a reference pic to give you folks an idea, not really making a prompt out of it because, yes.

The lassie does disspell too much confidence to just ruin it with a rape-fic, or something of the like.

Throughout history, lots of fighters have used alcohol to steady themselves before battle, especially when the battle was a confused melee where luck was more important than anything else to survive. Some used it to bear the horror of chopped arms and gutted enemies and comrades.

That doesn't mean alcohol didn't have side effects on them, impairing judgment and reflexes. It was a trade-off, in some cases an excellent one because it prevented some from fleeing from the battlefield before the battle even started.
 
I read somewhere that, a lot of sailors (at least professional ones), didn't really like to get drunk when they're out of service temporarily.

At any time, they could be called back to work on the rigging, the capsun, or wherever else, and with work conditions as dangerous as being 12 feet in the air in rough seas, it's best to not lose your balance.

It's different when they were on land, of course, and of course, some sailors couldn't care less as long as they got drunk.
 
So. Historically, a lot of pirates didn't actually make money off of stealing and hiding treasure. Rather, they were paid mercenaries masquerading as sea bandits. They were basically the Shadowrunners of the Colonial times. So if you were a Megacorp like the East India Tea Company, maybe you'd send a Johnson to go slip some neuyen to a bunch of pirate captains so they'd frag your competition's clipper ship before it could sail into Cascais with a cargo hold full of Bohea. Steal anything else they have in the hold, if you want. Sure, why not? But make sure every grain of that tea goes down with the ship. So ka, chummer?

Why not make her that kind of Pirate?

There's a throne up for grabs. Royal (people of a gender and disposition you want to write sex scenes about) are flocking from all over the seven seas to court the heir apparent. Our Pirate Queen's job is simple. Deflower, corrupt, kidnap, blackmail, kill or otherwise delay as many as possible. Being an opportunistic Pirate Queen, of course, our dubious heroine would love nothing more than to get paid twice, thrice and quice for each ship she has to engage. Soon she's making deals with her would-be prey and then double- and triple-crossing them. Whose side is she on? Why, her own, of course! And that's *before* a mysterious magical maguffin enters the picture...

You get the idea. It's a bit heavier on the social intrigue than I personally would like to go, but there are a lot of directions you can take it from here. She needs a personal motive the audience can root for, and make sure the bad guys do something horrible to her upon meeting her so whatever she does to them afterwards feels nice and justified.

Technically speaking, while yes they did piratical acts, they were technically not pirates as they did have legal jurisdiction.

British Privateers/French Buccanneers were legally allowed to capture and sell enemy ships to friendly ports if they possessed Letters de Marque.

The practice did die out with the ousting of the House of Stuart and the de-recognition of these privateers, that's not to say that, for a time, pirates were just businessmen. And at that point, can she be called a pirate if she's still working for the interest of a sovereign.

I might do this, however, for a different kind of story... maybe another one-shot, but in a world I'm trying to develop, using a privateer character as a way to expand said world.

And yes, I might've dabbled in some rather Ancient Pirate Lore, as the cool kids say.
