"Yes, mistress." Dinah timidly manages from a few steps behind the others.
"It will last for a few minutes when cast on the four of us." Yoko informs the group.

The purple-haired woman doesn't gesture, speak an incantation, or anything of the sort. One moment, all is normal. The next, the others in the group have seemingly disappeared. Julia feels the slightest hint of magic surrounding her person, rendering her invisible.
"Done. Open the door. Time is short." Yoko's voice carries a tinge of anguish.

 

Julia didn't waste time in opening and making their way in, not sure what to anticipate, but it was still better to make their move quickly. She did make a mental note that Yoko's power of illusion still seemed fairly powerful here, even if limited. She would study it closer later, but for now they had to take their advantage while they had it.

 

Spoiler: Stealth Roll

His first step falls noisily on the tiled floor. The woman snaps to her feet and turns to face Adam, snatching the pistol and aiming it at the student. A second firearm soon joins it, drawn from a holster by the woman's other hand. "Freeze!" She shouts.
"Draw her to me." Seth whispers from beside the doorway, out of the woman's sight.

 

With no real clue what to feel, and instead relying on her sight as her hands disappear right in front of her. Felicia figures the spell worked as they make their way toward the door. And hearing Yoko's anguished voice, she figures they had to hurry. So she does, quickly moving toward the door, she waits for Julia to use magic on the padlock, but if that fails. "Dinah, you think you can do something about this lock? Maybe teleport it away from the door?"

Disappointingly, the door's padlock requires breaking or picking before the rescue team can enter.

 

"As if, putain!" Adam glares at the woman, trying to piss her off, stepping back from the doorway. "What, you going to try and rape me like your psycho guard? Catch me if you can, you salope de merde." He sneers, before moving back into the hallway and out of sight, trying to use his 'charm' to make her pursue him irrationally.

 

(Misread a bit.)

While she didn't have the camera to test on, it seemed her cold magic was going to come into play anyway. The padlock wasn't big compared to some other things she tried it on, but this was going to be attempting to flash freeze and shatter metal. "This might be a little complicated." Still she channeled as much force she could, her instincts both to get to Adam in time and maybe a bit, just to see if she could do it.

 

Spoiler: Julia's Magic Roll

87+20(Sorceress)+10(Ice Magic)-10(Invisible)=107 crit. success

The padlock freezes at Julia's insistence, only taking a few seconds for the effect to become readily apparent. The iced-over lock breaks apart at the professor's touch, allowing entrance.

Rather than an abandoned factory floor or warehouse, the group discovers a dimly lit cement staircase leading underground. The stairway ends in a concrete landing with a sturdy, windowless metal door. Another camera watches the landing.

 

As they're met with another camera, Felicia grumbles, "I don't see a lock on the next door." She said slowly approaching if the invisibility magic is still in effect. She looks for a way to open the metal door.

 

Julia also scans for some indication of how it opens.

 

Spoiler: Taunt Roll

75+20(Dominating)-10(Level-headed)=85 success

Not one to shoot an unarmed prisoner, the warden hastily rushes through the doorway to follow Adam. Seth whacks the woman's stomach with his Rod, causing her to gasp and double over in pain. He proceeds to say the word "pierce" in ancient Egyptian, and the bronze staff hums with mystical power. "She will need a few minutes to subjugate." The white-haired prisoner whirls the Item around and strikes the back of the warden's head with it, causing her to crumple to the floor. Adam is uncertain if she is dead or merely unconscious.

 

"Subjugate? Oh, right... Mind control staff." I have *got* to get one of these items. He reaches down to take the woman's firearms, before heading to the desk to see what he can do. He examines the camera feeds first, before looking at the controls, seeing if there's anything that can be remotely operated from here, like door locks. While he's seated, he grabs the woman's keycards as well.

 

[I will say something before the invisibility wears off. It has been less than a minute so far.]

Felicia 59+20(Perceptive)+20(Difficulty)=99 strong success

As they approach, Felicia and Julia see a card reader embedded into a small alcove in the cement wall beside the door. It must control the door. The portal's construction seems solid. Breaking in will not be an easy feat.

 

"Great, a card reader." Felicia grumbles, "I don't suppose you have any magic to opem this?" She asks her companions, though Yoko must be exhausting her strength with the invisibility, so she mostly looks at Julia, and Dinah.

 

"Hmm." Julia thought about it. Blast doors might be a little much to force through and it was unlikely they had anything that actually worked.

"I'm not too technical and I doubt Yoko is especially knowledgeable about these." She wasn't too versed in technology to think of exactly how, but they did need some means.

"I suppose, we'll do this the hard way. Short out the camera....deal with who investigates while we have the advantage, and use their card? We'll need to thin them out sooner or later anyway."

 

"That works for me." Felicia nods, checking out the camera, and trying to mess with the wires to break it.

 

"You know more than your appearance suggests." Seth scowls. "I do not have time to take her." He follows Adam into the room, looking over the Frenchman's shoulder at the monitors.

Spoiler: Camera Feeds

The first camera is labeled "External."
The second camera is labeled "Briefing Room"
The third camera is labeled "Command Hallway"
The fourth camera is labeled "Entrance Hall"

Aside from the above feeds, a fifth camera labeled "Entrance" displays a windowless, metal door with concrete walls adjacent to it. The "Command Hallway" camera is the only one with people pictured, but Adam can't get a good look at them. They seem to be military. The computer system seems to be designed for monitoring only. Adam cannot affect the feeds or control any doors without attempting to circumvent the system's safeguards.

 

"Yep, I'm as knowledgeable as I am beautiful." Adam chuckles. "Okay, looks like we should be trying to avoid the Command Hallway. Let's see if there's a way around." He searches the computer for any maps or blueprints of the complex. Hmm, I wonder... While he's at it, he searches for any data on him, his friends, Merneith, or the Millenium items.

 

"Only teleporting to the other side, which could be dangerous." Dinah says meekly.

With a few seconds of pulling, Felicia yanks a wire free from the device. She is confident that it's disabled.

A handful of minutes later, the metal door opens, and a suited woman carrying a rifle steps through.

After looking to ensure that no one is in the stairway, she turns around to see what's wrong with the camera. Julia and Felicia can feel the invisibility spell beginning to weaken. It won't last much longer.

 

With the camera disabled, Felicia waits for someone to come out. And thankfully, someone did, and she was alone. Just in tome for the invisibility spell to wane. The red-head acts fast, preparing to do a round-house kick, hoping to knock the woman out as she slams against the wall.
