The guide doesn't make any reference to different styles of fonts or the ability to superscript. I'd like to suggest we include both abilities when writing for a story.
One of my stories uses diary entries that I have to mark with underlines, and I contribute to stories with bilingual characters who are currently speaking their non-English language in bold text. I'd prefer using a different font style to designate non-English dialogue and non-oral dialogue exchanges, if only because of how limited my options become otherwise. I emphasize the fonts in particular because this is already a forum option. I acknowledge they are different systems, but it seems absurd that the forum should have more formatting features.
As for the superscripting, even the forum lacks this feature. I also suspect I'm the only one who intends to include a mathematical equation or contemplates inserting a fake trademark into a thread body. However, I do have my reasons for these choices, and one includes an exponent. With the the current site functions, I can only hope to render it as "x^n" which isn't as aesthetically pleasing and likely is not as immediately obvious. A trademark, meanwhile, is completely outside my abilities. I also know this would necessitate the production of subscripting as well, I only focused on superscripting since it is my priority.
Any community interest in either of these ideas?
