Harpy moans. "You... I'll give the money back. I don't care about it. All I want are the precious shinies..."
Waking up, Vanessa checks on her phone to see if she had any messages, and then her burner to see if Vixen had anything to say about her performance with her first client. After that, she heads out her room, asking Lawrence if there were any drastic changes.
Sapphira nods, pulling out her phone, as Goode audibly bristles on the other side of the phone. "I am one of the bosses! There's only four people senior to me in the whole-!" She stops her offended rant, and breathes, before speaking in a diplomatic tone. "I managed to intercept this call before my superiors found out about it. I think we can help each other, if what you're saying is true."
“My apologies, I did not mean to offend you, I am just not very familiar with your organization.” Azura tried to be diplomatic as well. “Perhaps we can help each other, depending on what you plan to do with the vial once you have it back...”
She sees a notification stating that she's made quite a substantial amount of money - though trivial of course to the heiress of a massive company. Vixen has only instructed her to state which hours she'll be active. "Nothing as of yet, ma'am." Lawrence says.
"Of course. I apologise for my outburst." The woman says. "Perhaps we could discuss that part in person? The issue of the vial is...contentious...to say the least, within the company - and you already know more about me than I know about you."
For now, Vanessa replies that she'll be active during the evenings, but may or may not have some free time during the day as well. Sitting down to eat breakfast with Lawrence, the heiress nods, "Well, they say sometimes no news is good news." She giggles, "But I suppose we can't keep living like this." She sighed, "When do you think is a good time for us to return to the mansion? Though, I suppose we can do that discreetly, we should probably have it repaired first, huh?" She grumbled, thinking how it would be a big inconvenience to her if the mansion is attacked again while repairs are underway because she was impatient. "Right, let's have it repaired first, I suppose I can just use one of the penthouse suites we have around the city." Vanessa said as she munches on her breakfast, trying to forget the taste of Melchett's smegma. "Though if we can't deal with all our competitors, we should probably look to fortifying the mansion, what do you think?"
“Yes, considering what is really in that vial I can imagine how it could be... contentious.” Azura nodded, though the woman would not be able to see it. “Very well, let us meet and speak in person – it will make things easier for everyone. Do you have a particular meeting spot in mind, or should we suggest one?” Internal company politics can be a bitch, but they can also be of use to us...
"Well, the police have finished collecting evidence, meaning that we should be able to move back in whenever we please." He says. "If they try to bar us, we could threaten to sue them, and be within our rights. Repairs should be easy enough - the household wasn't badly damaged, after all - bullet holes can be mended, blood stains washed out. As for fortifying it, I'm not quite sure. We'd be hard pressed to repel someone like Hammer if he wanted to get in - we'd need some sort of ultra-durable metal to withstand his punches. Trying to cover the whole facade would be pointless - I'm thinking of perhaps a panic room type of structure. Plus maybe a turret with explosive ammunition, and land mines to force him into a choke point. With your powers, we could defend the place." He frowns. "The real problem with defending the mansion, though, is size. It's a large building, and there are only two of us. Even if we're in seperate rooms 24/7, that still leaves several dozen through which an assailant could break in undetected."
"Nowhere near corporate HQ." She answers, thinking for a moment. "There's a small coffee shop on..." She gives an address. "I'll be on the second floor in...can you make it in an hour?"
"That's a fair point. I suppose a panic room would do, but if we were to be attacked by a supe, I think that'll be pointless. Hmm, unless we have two panic rooms? Maybe have a real bunker right below a booby-trapped false one?" Vanessa replied with an idea of her own, giggling at how childish their conversation sounded. "As for the turrets and land mines, urgh. I don't want to have to keep watching my step whenever I want to wander around the garden." She grumbled, The turrets I guess we could do, have them hidden within some statues. Land mines are a no though." The heiress grins, until Lawrence mentions how to best defend the mansion. Vanessa gulps, unaware that Jacob's hypnotic suggestion was taking effect. "Well... what if... you know, that boy I had you prepare a house for... what if I made him my kind of side-kick?" The heiress suggests, "I mean, he seems trustworthy, and from what I can tell, he's eager to train himself to fight, which you can help with."
“Sure, that won't be a problem. See you in an hour, miss Goode.” Unless there was something more the woman wanted to talk about Azura would hang up. Azura turned to look at Sapphira. “Alright, what did you find about this woman? Do you think we can trust her?”
"If you say so - one more head couldn't hurt, if you think he can be trusted." Lawrence says non-commitally.
"Alright, make the preparations for us to go home, and I'll see if he's interested in joining us." Vanessa replied, smiling a little bit. "Oh, right, how is Jack doing?" She asked a follow up question, wondering how the creator of Oscar's engram was faring while in hiding.
"Hard to say." The blonde shows Azura the screen, displaying a picture of an attractive, professionally dressed woman in her mid thirties, though she looks younger. Her resume, at least based off of publically available information, is more or less as one would expect of someone in her position - an education in business with minors in a few sciences, and then a list of jobs in various companies, some awards, some kitschy articles about how she's a woman breaking boundaries, and about her donations to charity - nothing that sets off alarm bells, at least.
"That's to be expected, I suppose." Vanessa shrugs, "Hopefully he calms down, and doesn't do anything stupid." She grumbled, "Alright, we have a busy day ahead of us, I'll see you later, Lawrence." Once breakfast was over, Vanessa changes into her costume to break the news to Jacob, and ask if he'd want to live with her.
“Well, nothing obviously worrying, at least... let's give her a chance and hear her out. Still, no reason to be too trusting...” Azura focused on Sapphira. “Since we arrived here via a magical portal we should leave the same way in order to not attract any unwanted attention. Can you bring us somewhere close to the meeting place? Might as well have a look around before we meet with Alicia, just in case.” She suggested. “Also, if anyone have any suggestions or recommendations, I will be happy to hear them.” she added as she looked at each of the other three women.
She finds the boy at the safehouse she got him, ushering her in enthusiastically. "Me? Live with you?" He stares for a moment. "Where do I sign up?"
"Sure, no prob." The blonde nods. Daiyu frowns. "We should have some sort of contingency in place. I can have a sniper in position in time, I think."
