The number descriptions are just guidelines, if you feel you fall on a certain relative number but don't like my exact description, the number should be fine. I tried to make them flexible, but I don't believe in, like 4.5 on this sort of thing. There should be a place you fit closely enough.

Oh, and the standard is your upper limit of wickedness when writing, but where you can still live with what you've written without freaking yourself out on a reread.

I voted myself as a 5. The only chapter I've ever written where I felt kinda bad about the fictional characters was one where the protagonist sees a lesbian proposing to her girlfriend in the town square... and then stops time and has his way with both of them, ruining their perfect moment.

To be honest, I rated myself a 7 mostly because I chose to start writing here because of the rules and guidelines. Before I started writing I decided I needed that kind of structure or, not to get into details, but there's every chance that I... I'd get carried away.

Laws. It's nice to have 'em, and not always just because of the other guy.

Not even sure I fit anywhere there.

I am fascinated by certain kinks, and I like to explore them in my stories. Those are mainly bondage, submission, dominance, blackmail, hypnosis, petplay, bimbofication or any kind of story which changes a character, often a bit against their will. But I am not considering those "dark" kinks. At the same time, there are things which don't interest me at all, including incest, all kinds of toilet play or anything that involves (non sexual) violence. My stories don't contain bloodshed, murder or gore, so... I consider myself heavily influenced by kinks and consider stories which don't include those kinks mostly boring, but I consider none of my kinks reaching into any "taboo" or "dark" zone. But maybe that's just a question of definition.

This is kind of a hard one to answer. I put myself down at a 6 or 7.
I draw most of my inspiration from Hentai, so what I consider normal would probably be a at least 6. I have a lot of rapey and incesty stuff, but I like to keep the tone fun, if rough. In the end, "darkness" is determined less by the acts themselves, but rather by the consequences and degree of realism of what goes on...

I am... somewhere between 4 and 6-7. It varies based on my mood and inspiration, so not going to vote at all.

You're welcome to not vote, but that specific concern was addressed in the post following the poll.

I would say I sit at a resting five, and in my published writing I usually don't go above a six at my very worst, but from time to time I will write up a chapter that is a solid 7-8, then discard it for being too dark.

I vote myself a 6 but not a firm 6 as I use very little kink (No BDSM for me thank you, and I skirt the non-consent line very rarely) but lots of Taboo stuff. I try to make my stories as 'clean' as possible, straight 'romance' or porn sex.
