Valerian laid quietly on the ground. Taking the time to catch his breath and rest for a few moments. After Slate left him go, he slowly sat up and eyed the recesses of the forest warily as he asks, "Who are they? What were they looking for?" He spoke in a hushed voice. Still wary that they were far from out of danger.
Icena quickly followed Ryze, trying to pin her in bathtub, but failed to do so, only when she jumped into the tube, and pined the woman down, Icena realized she had won this encounter, as the woman desperately reached up to her trying to move above the water, only to be pressed back under it by Icena.
As Rina run into her chamber and started gathering her things she heard screams around. It seemed that the alarm was raised, and now she was being sought... At least she recovered some of her belongings and food.
Slate narrowed her eyes as she looked around. "Bandits. But some of those people were to good to be simple bandits. It might be that we were targeted..." She hummed as she looked back at the direction of caravan. "Anyone else made it out?" She asked.
Rina grab her bag and run away. She knew the main gate it is out of the question, but maybe some backdoor in the kitchen will give her a chance to escape.
As she exited her room, she walked on one of fellow students, who stopped surprised to see her here. Spoiler: student
(Annah from Planescape Torment ) Rina look at studend and simply nod to her, as the alarm ring in the tower. "Didn't you hear? We have intruder on the tower! Quickly, run to the gates, we must lock it way out." She buffs.
(I did not even know...) The woman, An, frowned, but then nodded. "Follow me." She said. Good news, she believed the bluff. Bad news, she was guiding Rina thought he most occupied parts of tower... and there, gig would certainly be up.
Rina look for the window to get out outside, but decided to make another buff. " We must secure all exits. You take main gate, and I will secure backdoor of the kitchen." She said and before An could react, Rina go to the kitchen.
Icena wasn't about to chances. She kept Ryze under the water until the woman seemed to stop resisting, then waited a bit longer, in case it was a trick. Only when she was certain that she was in no immediate danger she pulled Ryze out of the bathtub. Icena unceremoniously dropped the subdued Ryze on the floor and looked around for something to tie her up and gag her.
He shook his head, "No, I couldn't see anyone else from my vantage point laying on the ground unconscious." Valerian thought back to what he saw when he was pretending to be dead, "the bandits were rummaging through the caravan and seemed excited to find some kind of large and ornamental...box?"
The woman looked at Rina confused. THe sudden change raised her suspicion. "Wait a minute." She frowned as she turned to Rina. "Hey!" She called after her as she started leaving.
Panicking Ryze fought to push Icena out of her, but failed. Her movements became weaker,, and weaker, until she stopped struggling and the water calmed down. Before she could drown, Icena removed the woman out of bathtub - she found some rope that she could use to bind the woman. Also there were number of clothes around, she could use as a gag.
"All exits must be secured or intruder will escape and we all will be punished by mistress." Rina said fake news, hoping An will leave her alone.
Slate frowned as she heard that. "So, they were after something specific..." She hummed. "Do you remember which cart the cargo they were interested in was?" She asked, frowning... and woried.
That seemed to stop An and make her reconsider her position. "Okay!" She said as she turned back to go to the main gate. The threat of mistress's wrath was enough to stop her.
"I didn't exactly have the best vantage point nor do i know if things were changed up any while I was unconscious...however..." Valerian grimaced and wracked his brain. He was unsure if the order of the carts got bungled in the chaos, or if things were moved around, but he tried to answer the question the best that he could and described which cart it appeared they were raiding.
Icena wasted no time gagging the woman, then took the rope and used it tie up Ryze's hands behind her back, followed by tying up Ryze's feet, and then tying the hands and legs together, leaving her unable to even get up. Once her assailant was secure Icena began searching the place for anything of interest.
As she makes her way through the tower, it seemed that Rina's guess about the kitchen seemed like it was the best bet. She stopped in the corridor as she heard multiple step making their way from the direction she was going to - a number of guards... she could try and fight them, but that would be challenging... or she could try and hide from them, but there was a risk she would be found, or she could try different path, but that would mean more time to escape.
