"Moving to the Sexworld" Discussion

Basic concept:

Policewoman in her 30s, had a son in high school whom she kept, got married in her twenties, was widowed a few years later, meets a man from Sexworld, marries him, she and her teenage son move in with him and his other wives and children.

POV from both her and the son.

No details as of yet.

Just throwing another idea here, I've been wondering what would happen if a familly from Sexworld would immigrate to Prudeworld. To make it work would need to be diplomat or a corporate.

What do you think?

The angle would be the patchwork family I guess and she has to have a job, hasn't she? It might be interesting to look into Sexworld police. I don't think the jo is so important because lets face it, currently there is no storyline, where the job is important.

I thought about that too but I don't know if it would be fun to read, these poor people move into a world where their lifestyle is looked down upon but if you want to start it, do it and prove me wrong.

I once thought about doing a story about such a family seducing their new neighbors, but I'm not sure if that really works.

At the moment I have little time to write so I think I'll stick to my own stories, but at some point in the future I might take you on your offer.
None-the-less I think it would be fun to have this familly totally sexualized trying to go after anything that moves. Now that I think of it I could perfectly see it as the report of the trial of the familly that ends up being the trial of prudeworld.

If anyone wants to go at it. The idea is there to take.

So, I have what I think is a fairly solid idea for a first post.

The problem is that A: it's focus is pretty much entirely on the Policewoman and not her son (who is also supposed to be a POV character), and B: includes almost no description of the characters beyond her and her new fiance; that last being mostly because I haven't come up with any details, asides from the idea that one of his wives is a really tall African immigrant, another is a classic "English rose", and that a third looks like like an exotic beauty from a foreign land (which I have not specified) whilst having a thick stereotypical American regional accent (though I haven't settled on which one of those either, and I suspect it would make things overly complicated in either case).

Should I post it as is, or try to develop it more?

I don't think POV ist that important, because the center of attention is the family, I see no reason why you shouldn't switch between them. The combination of wives is also very interesting, I might use something like that in my plot too. xD Though I don't know what an "English rose" is. The only thing that bothers me a bit is, why does the policewoman marry a Sexworlder to become his fourth wife and move over to his world? I think even deeply in love a woman might think about it, if that is a really wise move.

If you want to write it, start it. I'm afraid I might be unable to partake in that storyline though, if nothing changes in the next months.

I don't think there's anything wrong with at least getting an intro out there. And characters have a habit of appearing as needed in these kinds of stories. Goodness knows I built a bunch of characters throughout my chapters. Though your "exotic beauty from a foreign land having a thick American accent" is something I've already tried to explore in the Alex line, though admittedly I dropped Trish in favor of Hope, on account that the girl Hope is based on asked me to add more of her. That's a story for another time.

Also, fun fact, Trish was based on a girl I knew back in high school. An Indian girl (as in, from India, not Native American, for those of you thinking I'm being a racist bastard or something) with a bright smile. She wore a lot of red... and maybe smoked a bit too much weed. Though unlike Trish, my old acquaintance's accent was New England'ish. Almost Boston, not Georgia Dixie like the character. I don't even remember her name, but she always stood out in my memory visually.

But I'm nearing the end of (my take of) Alex's storyline, maybe 5 or 6 chapters, I'll be able to check some new stuff out then. I also still want to do that biker gang story we talked about in PM.

Every story's gotta have an ending. I'd rather tell a complete story and give it a nice solid stopping point than leave things hanging for ever and ever like so many things on this site. Maybe it's a weakness of mine, since I'm very much a traditional writer that way, but for me, I like knowing things are heading somewhere instead of languishing.

How do you want to do that, BTW?

Probably in the next couple of weeks, either I'll have you or I'll do myself a thing a where we put up a new "Sexworld Stories" or something like that main line. Not, like, a branch of this, a new Story. Since we're getting most of our worldbuilding done in this, that would be a platform for tales in Sexworld starring natives instead of outsiders. From there we can have the biker gang story, a bunch of other stuff we hadn't really thought of yet... if we're being honest, the Blayne stuff might be a good fit there too.

At least that's how I'd do it. This is still your baby, tell me if I'm being presumptuous.

Welp, I've just declined a chapter for the first time. Also, edited the guidelines to forbid scat/watersports.

So I have a bit of a dilemma I'd like to run by you guys.

I'm writing my newest chapter, and I'm about... 2,000 words in or so. Now here's the thing, my usual chapters are about twice that, so it's really short compared to everything but my earliest entries. Half the size. But I'm actually at a pretty cool "what happens next" stopping point.

Now normally I'd be, like, "okay, a short-ish but fun chapter is cool," but here's the thing, other than some wild sex scenes, if I released it now, I'd almost feel it's filler.

So I don't know, I'd like to hear your guys thoughts. Should I post the shorter chapter, or should I keep going to my usual chapter length?
