(I wonder... what could have brought this on~) The two decided to wait for something change, for a development... They sat in a bushes, waiting. Spoiler: Observe Fail Fail Mark blinked... then blinked again. It was night... he fell asleep! As he looked around, he realised Hana was sleeping next to him and something changed... he could feel it in his bones! He carefully looked at the tree the bandit was waiting - he was gone!
Mark's first instinct was to grab the spear and look around for any hints of immediate danger... Then he carefully woke Hanna up.
"Hm~" The sleepy halfling blinks a few times then freezes as looked at Mark. "What?" She asked, carefully looking around.
"We are morons who fell asleep, that's what. " Mark whispered with a sigh. " I see no other option but to sneak along the road, and either find their camp or just go far away to complete the secondary task." He swallowed some of stored forest berries and handed a reminder to Hanna
Going inside she decided the simplest solution was simply to walk in and tell them she lost the key to her room and needed a spare.
Hana winced as she took berries. As the duo ate it slowly, Mark felt his phone vibrate. Spoiler: Notification Quest - It's a trap! - Quest failed! You neither escaped nor captured the bandits! Sleep! Are you too much into the spirit of Bilbo Baggins!? New Quest! Quest - Hunting Bandits! Sequel! You are hunting bandits! Because you failed the job the first time! Reward: Defeat all of the bandits - 50 credits. Optional: ? Failure: Bandits will hunt you and your companion! Deal with it, Stowaway!
"Please, tell me there is a fuckable female bandit among them," Mark groaned. "Let's try to find where they went. I am afraid should we not find them, my dear manager will bring something unpleasant on our heads. And it is still 50 credits! Remember, silence and stealth. There are more of them... and they are probably better fighters"
As Ivy entered the building and approached the person behind the counter, the woman frowned. "Sorry, I don't remember you." She frowned as she opened a book. "Can you tell me your name and the room you are staying in?" She asked.
Hana nodded. "As you wish master." She said with not as much enthusiasm as Mark would expect from her.
"Do you have a better idea?" Mark knew this tone and he didn't like hearing it, " I am not too thrilled about going into an assassin mode, either."
Hanna frowned, then shook her head. "No, it's not that..." She sighed. "It's just that... I don't know, I just have a feeling about this. Like a scratch that doesn't leave me."
"Same, but... " Mark suddenly landed a forceful kiss on her lips and whispered "As soon as we deal with those bandits, I'll end that stupid virgin sex slave status of yours and we'll celebrate our victory in a proper way. Now let's go."
"Isabella Valentine. I don't remember the room number, that was on the key." She kept it brief. There was no need to give unnecessary details and catch herself in a lie.
Hanna easily, greedily returned the kiss. She moaned as she gripped Mark, embracing him. "Promises~" She sighted as they separated. "You will forget as soon as one or more bandits will be decent-looking females~" She said with a chuckle as she got up. "Well, Master~ I am right behind you~ after all, I have to look at something decent as we walk through the dark forest~" The woman frowned as she started looking through the book. "I am sorry but I can't seem to find your name in the book. Maybe you could take me to the room you are staying at-" She looked at Ivy with a frown.
"Only you can call my skinny decent," Mark answered with a smirk. "Now silence... I am loud as fuck compared to you with your hairy feet but I'll try." Mark had no idea how will he find bandits and what can he see in the darkness, but going along the road seemed like the best option and the first destination was the tree on which the bandit resided. (is it a bright night? A cloudy one? Moonless? Also, note that he has the spear in his hands, keeping the handaxe ready as a sidearm. Hanna got the dagger)
It might not be this inn then. That was unusual. It would have been her first choice. That must mean it could likely be one of the others. "I see. Perhaps I have my lodgings confused." Without explaning further she began to excuse herself to try the other two. Her alternate couldn't be so different from herself that she would really move away from the overall idea.
(Okay~ It's dark and cloud but with half moon shining now and then) "That's because you are walking with your boots on! You would be soo much quieter if you took those of!" Hana answered easily. As the duo made their way to where the bandits were earlier, they managed to find the direction the men taken... but there was a problem. Should they follow this road, it was quite possible, that they could loose the trail and get lost in the forest. But if they continued and kept to the trail, they could surprise the bandits.
Ivy decided to check the next hotel, this time one near the park. As she inquired the innkeeper with teh same story as previously, he actually gave satisfying answer. "Of course, this will be two silver." He said as he started noting in book....
Mark wasn't that worried about the possibility of getting lost, he was confident in his newly acquired survival skills (perhaps overconfident) and expected to find the way out anyway. Finding bandits sleeping in a camp or otherwise busy was the best chance to defeat them.
Spoiler: track fail The two move through the forest, carefully following the trail. But soon, Mark realised that he lost the trail... or rather as he noticed the signs he mixed trail of bandits with old trail of animal. That's more, it would be difficult to find their previous trail in this conditions... yet, they could still try...
