Something I don't see much FtM transformation

MtF I see all the time but FtM barely even happens in the Xchange story (I am not 100% sure there is a thread dedicated to it). Is it just that we can't think of any sexy stories dealing with it? I am considering setting one up, ill post it here if I do. Some ideas: xchange also makes you young, what if an older woman wanted to be young and used xchange to become a young man; a popular group of girls starts making one of them be the guy so they don't have to have boyfriends; girl just wants to try out being a guy, maybe friends help, maybe goes to school and hits on girls that are mean to her as a girl, maybe is seduced by a teacher; Curse ala Boy cursed to be a girl; body swap story, then you could do both.

Those are just a few off the top of my head.

Thing is that the Hermaphrodite/Futa trope is much more popular. Because tits i assume (It's why i would use it over straight up gender change). In the end Gender Change and Dick Growth both achieve basically the same thing but because lesbians with dicks have a broader appeal than confused males with identity issues.

At least that is my take on the "issue". I can see the FtM transformation being a good floor for a story but not one i would be interested in. Here is the difference between FtM and MtF transformation: A woman that can fuck another woman is sexy (for whatever reason), therefore Chicks with Dicks exists. A man with a vagina is just weird. Transformed males often end up being total sluts, and I for myself like that in my porn. I am not particularly sure what personality type a woman would carry over to being a man. I can see the 'Popular group of girls don't want a boyfriend' story working but then again why not just use the well-established trope? Of course 'For the sake of not using it' is a valid answer but i can't see how it helps in the erotic department. From a narrative standpoint you can pull off all kinds of shaenanigans though, so go for it if you want to.

Sounds nice but weird. (how would the one feel to be her best friends' boy toy?)

What about a group of girls where one of them always feels like the fifth wheel. After getting the chance to be a boy, she decides to take some revenge, seduce them with the help of everything she knows about them (she heard all intimate details about them and knows exactly how to push their buttons; if that wouldn't work she could blackmail them with intimate things she knows.).
Maybe she could also try to make them pregnant one by one.

I think a boy in a girl's body can become a slut pretty easily without realizing the consequences it could have (e.g. to be considered as a slut; jealous friends; getting pregnant).

From the other side, a girl in a boy's body could experience an unknown freedom. As a guy, she could fuck anyone she wants (and who is willing) without being called a slut. She could also do all the dirty things she didn't like to receive as a girl (to understand, why guys always wanted to deepthroat her (cum on her face, do her anal, ...))

I think there was a Hentai about that. TSF Monogatari i believe. Let me see if i can find it..... *One google search later* Yup, there it is. If i remember correctly it is pretty fucked up but hey it is pretty much what you describe here.

I don't see it. I really don't. I do UNDERSTAND it but i just don't see an application for it. There is nothing stopping a girl (in erotic fiction and actually in reality as well) to fuck all the guys anyway. If you want to make it the kind of 'Liberation' story, yeah, okay, just not my cup of tea i guess. Doesn't have to be.

For all the dirty things she could do as a guy, as I already said, the Chicks with Dicks trope also does this, but with tits. I happen to like tits, i am a shallow person.

I like just about everything about the "fifth wheel" idea, especially the secretly wanting to get the rest of them pregnant thing. Maybe whatever thing they use to transform the other one makes her like a super alpha guy with super seduction/impregnation powers.

There must be a ton of reasons why girls don't fuck all guys because it seems that girls don't fuck all the guys (in reality). Some of them even take money for it o_O

Yeah, but all of these reasons come back to the individuals themselves (In western society). If a woman WANTS to sleep around she can. Some of them do take money for it, showing that they just need the right motivation. Therefore if you write a female character whose motivation is to get fucked, they can.
If they do it for the fun of it women sleep around just as much as men do that do it for the fun of it. Although they seem to be more inclined to picking people they call regularly rather than go to a bar at the weekends looking to "score".

There is no reason to transform a character into a male to experience sexual liberation, unless you give the character some damaged/low self-esteem, which could be an interesting story/motivation i guess.

Maybe get some of them hooked up on being a guy but only one of them can be a guy at the same time so there is some drama about who gets to use the item (drug, magical spell, w/e) from time to time.

Don't write about a character with their personality because you could give them a slutty personality?
To me, that sounds like "Fuck the story, start fapping!" (which is okay if it is what you intend with a story)

Not what i intended to say. I don't see the point in going the extra mile to genderbend in order to have somebody fuck around a lot. You can do it, in fact if you want to write it just do it. It just achieves nothing other tools can't achieve (in my opinion) in a better way. Want to write sex with a lot of different partners? Swinger Story or just MC with slutty personality. Female Party with some penis involved? Chicks with Dicks is still superior because tits (IMHO). Want them to sexually liberate themselves? Why go the extra mile to make them a dude? Doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of the 'Sexual Liberation' Character Development?

FtM-transformation is a gimmick and I don't see it's usefulness as a tool hence why it is so scarcely used. A good writer can make anything interesting so I am not saying it doesn't have potential but i just think it has LESS of it. Particularly in erotic fiction. I would love to be proven wrong though.

I was actually thinking about doing a story with this basic idea.
Like, a nerdy bullied girl turns into a hot dude on the full moon and decides to get revenge/have fun with her new body...

Because it is a girl with girl thoughts and girl feelings in a boy's body. As a boy, she will be still "normal".

In a "normal" environment, chicks with dicks (and pussies) would be kind of weird.
It also makes everyone a possible sexual partner, which may not always be desirable.

There is no reason to use any kink it as a tool.

Maybe there are a lot of men who like the idea to be a woman than women who like the idea to be a man.
I can imagine, that it would be kind of strange for guys to picture himself as a girl getting transformed into a guy. Thus, popularity could also be connected to the male-female ratio.

It seems our writing approaches differ extremely on this point. To me every kink, every genre, every trope, every type of stylistic device, every sentence structure, EVERYTHING in writing is just a tool to achieve a result.

I concede that point. Those are very good arguments.

Yes, everything in writing (including kinks) has some effect on the reader.

Kinks are special likings, which aren't interchangeable just to make the writing easier or more popular.
Or would you enjoy a chick with dicks story where the chicks with dick were replaced by guys with pussies just because it would work as a tool? I mean, "Hey, boobs!" ;)

If this is the main thing...
Yeah, girls are esthetic, guys aren't. (at least for me; some people may think different)

If a girl turns into a guy, there would be still mostly girls as interacting characters. If the main character is a straight girl there would be more male characters.

If it would work as a tool in that situation i would absolutely use it. I am saying that it doesn't work or is less interesting than others.

A kink is a tool to attract a certain reader group, of course it isn't interchangeable. Who uses a hammer to cut wood? Very few people i bet. If a certain kink is announced (Let's say BDSM) the reader assumes that certain scenes will be within that story, Orgasm Denial for example. It is now my liberty as a writer to use that assumption as a tool. I can also make the transition from BDSM -> Voyeurism, because maybe i want to show that the society of the story is so depraved that they live out pretty much everything perverse. To take to higher extremes i can show sexual slavery or some shit like that because i slowly escalate kinks, just like i can slowly (or quickly if it happens to work better) de-escalate them into a Love Story if i so desire. Kinks are tools to achieve SOMETHING, from the pulling in of readership to smoother story progression.

I am going off-topic now though so if you want to continue this discussion PM me ^^

FtM?

Why would you turn something sexy into something less sexy?

Does not compute.

Erm... some people find males more sexy than females. Straight females, for example... It gives them a character who has a relatable mind and a body they like (pm me or shout at me in this thread if I was just sexist/completely wrong).

I wasn't all that serious : )

So just to be clear, I find both men and women sexy. I write almost exclusively MtF transformation stuff and in that stuff, I think I have written maybe 2 lesbian scenes. Guys can be hot, frankly, there are as many kinds of hot guys as there are kinds of hot girls. Tall skinny guys with long fingers and that cute scruffy facial hair, Big burly guys with arms like pythons, cute stalky guys with a quick smile, dark broody guys, bouncy energetic guys, cool smooth guys. Idk maybe I'm getting off track, dudes can be sexy, frankly if you don't think so I don't know how you can write good erotica since you can't love both people in a scene.

One can use various empathic (and) listening skills to understand what is sexy to others, project that onto their characters, and write that in. Yes, of course dudes can be sexy to a person/character - understanding the ins and outs of that isn't necessarily the same as personally finding masculinity sexually attractive.

I write almost exclusively from the female perspective, and yes they can certainly be attracted to their partners... Male partners included.

Also, that truth aside, there's lots and lots of loopholes that get around what you said, and lots of kinds of 'good erotica'.

Scenes can have f/f, transgendered, solo female, they can be written from the perspective of a straight male, and they can be written with a woman repulsed by their partner, physically or mentally/emotionally or both.

None of those, and there are more examples, necessarily (depending how they are written) require particularly deep acknowledgement of masculine-male sexiness.
