"Ah!" Kaelaen's face flushed as she saw Seri's reaction. She raised her hands placidly. "My apologies. Consider there was no question." She quickly stated. "Anyway." Jura quickly put herself into conversation. "We still haven't decided what to do to deal with the nearest of problems - credits." She quickly changed the subject.
@majus @Elfie Alarmed, concerned for Seri, Nami doesn’t know what to say – reaching out wordlessly towards her, but not wanting to corner her further, she hovers back, trying only to gesture reassurance. She nods quickly as Kaelaen says to forget the suggestion. “All right,” she says. “Let’s say two of us head out into the station and look for information. See who’s hiring, what opportunities can be spotted. And the other two start going around the ship here, talking to people – get their input, see what ideas they might have. How does that sound?”
@majus @lady-lux Seri meets Kaelaen’s eyes, feeling a rush of shame at the other woman’s apology, hating herself for causing such a scene. She inches a little closer to Nami at her outstretched hand, wincing at how badly she finds herself needing to be held. “I’m - I’m really sorry. Let’s…” she takes a breath, steadying herself, “let’s leave Zeltros on the list. It’s a good idea - there’s just, baggage there, for me.” She offers Kaelaen a weak smile, then nods shakily in Nami’s direction. “That sounds like a plan. Let’s do it.”
@Elfie @lady-lux "Alright" Kaelaen nodded her head, some relief showing on her face. "Who goes with who?" Jura asked. "I should go with Nani." The Echani immadietly offered. "Captain needs a bodyguard." She gave Nami a cocky smile.
@majus @Elfie Nami begins to nod, ready to agree, but pauses. “If that’s all right with you, Seri,” she says. “Whatever makes you most comfortable – I know all of this has been a lot to deal with.”
@majus @lady-lux Seri raises her chin, determined to make use of herself, and not fall apart again. “Y-yeah, of course. I’ll be okay!” She winces as her voice takes on a slightly shrill note, “Not that that’s… I mean I’ll do whatever’s best for everyone.”
@Elfie @lady-lux The pair looked at each other, and gave each other a slight nod. "Give me a few minutes. I am going to check on the rest and ask if they need anything... Or do they have any ideas." Jura said as she moved to the door. "I will be waiting by the ramp." Kaelaen said as she followed the pilot "I will pick up a few bags for as to take. Might come in handy." she exited, leaving the two women alone.
@majus @Elfie Nami takes a slow breath in and out, feeling a fizz of anticipation, the mixed feelings brought up by the idea of going back out into the station. She moves a little closer to Seri, offering her hand. “How are you feeling?” she asks. “I can’t imagine what all this must be like, to take in so suddenly…”
@majus @lady-lux Seri keeps her jaw clenched, responding to the plans with small nods and what she hopes are attentive eyes. But when Jura and Kaelaen depart, she sags, energy rapidly draining. She realises that her throat is harbouring a dull ache - is this the most talking she’s done in… months? She takes Nami’s hand gratefully, stepping in, just about managing to stop herself from hugging the other woman tightly. “Honestly? Not great. But I feel worse for what a mess I must seem like.” She gulps, looking at Nami sidelong. “I hope - I hope I’m not being too much, I just. Is it weird to say I’ll miss you? And to please be careful out there?”
@majus @Elfie Nami smiles. “You’re doing really well,” she says. “Please, remember to take good care of yourself too. Once we have our whole situation a bit more under control, then – then we can finally have that chance to relax, both of us.” She gives Seri’s hand a little extra squeeze. “Sound good?”
@majus @lady-lux “Sounds great.” Seri manages a warmer smile, returning the squeeze and lingering a moment before releasing Nami’s hand. “Oh!” She blurts, eyes wide, as an idea clicks into place. “Before you both head out - we could see if the ship has any Comm links? Or perhaps you already checked. Just a thought, in case you need to reach us while you’re out there.”
@majus @Elfie Nami nods. “That’s a very good thought. We should make sure we all stay in touch if we can. Maybe the others have found something we can use.”
@majus @lady-lux Seri finds herself beaming, pleased to have been useful. She links arms with Nami, steering them both in the direction of the departed women. “Let’s check, and then we can see you off. Sooner you’re both gone, the sooner you’re safely back.”
@Elfie @lady-lux There was a Comms console on the Zygerian slaving ship - it was basic and poor. The ship did not really have great need for Comms. The problem that the duo encountered, was that Comms required a third person to operate it. Either that, or try to reprogram it and make a few mechanical adjustments.
@majus @lady-lux It’s entirely possible this is the sort of thing that Seri could end up making worse, if she tries tampering with it. But being able to have lines of communication seems important, so she resolves to see what she can do, once she’s caught up with Jura.
@majus @Elfie Looking over the comms system, Nami notes its limitations – disappointed, but not really surprised. “It’s all right,” she says, “I’m sure we can find someone to work this station for a little while, until we have a better option. Between us, we’ll figure something out.” She prepares to continue on with Seri to find the others.
