Star Wars: Warlords

Kaelaen’s suggestion hits Seri like a slap to the face, her eyes widening. She takes a step back, not entirely why she feels such a terrible sense of dread at the thought of going home.

Probably because it was never home?

“I-I-I -“ she stammers, unable to help herself, unable to quite grasp the right words for a response. “Ah - I - I w-wouldn’t nuh-know much… y-yes, yes it’s a - a puh-pleasure world.”

She claws for something to say, some tangible excuse to explain why the idea of going to Zeltros terrifies her. All she can see are the faces of her parents - or what she imagines they look like. She takes another step back, pressing against the cockpit wall, shrinking in on herself.

"Ah!" Kaelaen's face flushed as she saw Seri's reaction. She raised her hands placidly.

"My apologies. Consider there was no question." She quickly stated.

"Anyway." Jura quickly put herself into conversation. "We still haven't decided what to do to deal with the nearest of problems - credits." She quickly changed the subject.

Alarmed, concerned for Seri, Nami doesn’t know what to say – reaching out wordlessly towards her, but not wanting to corner her further, she hovers back, trying only to gesture reassurance. She nods quickly as Kaelaen says to forget the suggestion.

“All right,” she says. “Let’s say two of us head out into the station and look for information. See who’s hiring, what opportunities can be spotted. And the other two start going around the ship here, talking to people – get their input, see what ideas they might have. How does that sound?”

Seri meets Kaelaen’s eyes, feeling a rush of shame at the other woman’s apology, hating herself for causing such a scene.
She inches a little closer to Nami at her outstretched hand, wincing at how badly she finds herself needing to be held.
“I’m - I’m really sorry. Let’s…” she takes a breath, steadying herself, “let’s leave Zeltros on the list. It’s a good idea - there’s just, baggage there, for me.”
She offers Kaelaen a weak smile, then nods shakily in Nami’s direction. “That sounds like a plan. Let’s do it.”

Seri raises her chin, determined to make use of herself, and not fall apart again.
“Y-yeah, of course. I’ll be okay!” She winces as her voice takes on a slightly shrill note, “Not that that’s… I mean I’ll do whatever’s best for everyone.”

The pair looked at each other, and gave each other a slight nod.

"Give me a few minutes. I am going to check on the rest and ask if they need anything... Or do they have any ideas." Jura said as she moved to the door.

"I will be waiting by the ramp." Kaelaen said as she followed the pilot "I will pick up a few bags for as to take. Might come in handy." she exited, leaving the two women alone.

Nami takes a slow breath in and out, feeling a fizz of anticipation, the mixed feelings brought up by the idea of going back out into the station. She moves a little closer to Seri, offering her hand.

“How are you feeling?” she asks. “I can’t imagine what all this must be like, to take in so suddenly…”

Seri keeps her jaw clenched, responding to the plans with small nods and what she hopes are attentive eyes. But when Jura and Kaelaen depart, she sags, energy rapidly draining. She realises that her throat is harbouring a dull ache - is this the most talking she’s done in… months?

She takes Nami’s hand gratefully, stepping in, just about managing to stop herself from hugging the other woman tightly. “Honestly? Not great. But I feel worse for what a mess I must seem like.” She gulps, looking at Nami sidelong. “I hope - I hope I’m not being too much, I just. Is it weird to say I’ll miss you? And to please be careful out there?”

Nami smiles. “You’re doing really well,” she says. “Please, remember to take good care of yourself too. Once we have our whole situation a bit more under control, then – then we can finally have that chance to relax, both of us.” She gives Seri’s hand a little extra squeeze. “Sound good?”

“Sounds great.” Seri manages a warmer smile, returning the squeeze and lingering a moment before releasing Nami’s hand.

“Oh!” She blurts, eyes wide, as an idea clicks into place. “Before you both head out - we could see if the ship has any Comm links? Or perhaps you already checked. Just a thought, in case you need to reach us while you’re out there.”

Seri finds herself beaming, pleased to have been useful. She links arms with Nami, steering them both in the direction of the departed women. “Let’s check, and then we can see you off. Sooner you’re both gone, the sooner you’re safely back.”

There was a Comms console on the Zygerian slaving ship - it was basic and poor. The ship did not really have great need for Comms.

The problem that the duo encountered, was that Comms required a third person to operate it. Either that, or try to reprogram it and make a few mechanical adjustments.

It’s entirely possible this is the sort of thing that Seri could end up making worse, if she tries tampering with it. But being able to have lines of communication seems important, so she resolves to see what she can do, once she’s caught up with Jura.

Looking over the comms system, Nami notes its limitations – disappointed, but not really surprised. “It’s all right,” she says, “I’m sure we can find someone to work this station for a little while, until we have a better option. Between us, we’ll figure something out.”

She prepares to continue on with Seri to find the others.

As the duo slowly made their way through the ship, they walked past several females in various state of undress.

As they were closing to the exit ramp of the ship, they noticed a movement to the side.

In one room, they walked past, they found a young Fallen making out with an older Human. The Human was moaning sensually oblivious to her surroundings, as the younger woman's fingers danced between her legs. The Fallen noticed Seri and Nami and winked at them, as she squeezed the MILF's beast making her moan.

Nami smiles back, blushing a little – guilty and embarrassed about intruding, although the other woman doesn’t seem to mind. She continues on towards the ramp, her heart beating faster. These women have their freedom now, and the point of freedom is to use it how they like. Her blush deepens as she remembers her own adventure with Cha’ye, the sensation of her delicate touch— but now isn’t the time to get distracted!

Seri’s eyes widen at the sight, and she quickly looks away. But she can’t resist another quick glance, especially as it doesn’t seem unwelcome, and a breathless giggle escapes her.
More though, she feels a lift in her spirits: even in a place like this, where the women have suffered so awfully, there’s life and - well maybe not love, but lust can be just as uplifting in a pinch.
She grins furtively at Nami, a tint in her cheeks as they walk on, feeling a tingle of hope for what’s to come.

"We could have moved the bodies - we do need all equipment we can get!" The man still protested. "Besides, it's three imperials less to worry about!"

The big alien spoke in his language and the technician nodded.

"That's right! They could find and surprise the base! Have you thought about that!"

The snipper, kept quiet, as she looked around.

"Yep," Olena retorted with an unusual mix of dry delivery and chipper tone. "But I figured being worried about Lieutenant Adot being caught with her pants down by guys on loud speederbikes and bright white armor would be insulting to her if she were here to hear it... Besides which, there's only four of us. We need to pick our fights carefully. Now, it's over and done with, so let's get moving so we can find that fight we're spoiling for, yes?" With that, the Amazonian Amaran turned towards her original direction of travel... She threw in just a bit of a strut - if logic didn't win them over, she could always just fall back on sex appeal, up to a point.
