I can see Gavin's height didn't go to waste on Adam, lol. Any thoughts to who his wife is? A mother's athleticism perhaps? Given Todd Zander is Leon's cousin, I'm guessing Peter and Heather are related by marriage now -- which depending on the continuity, might've made for some fun nights! I'm guessing Brandon and Ashley amended any rough patches in their relationship to have Austin and Alice. Finally, Heather and Zack obviously can't get enough of each other. Four kids, dang. The bench and the boardroom are stressful places, I'm sure they need the release.
Thanks for the feedback, Yarkoz! Yeah, Gavin's height went to Adam and he makes full use of that, lol. His athleticism comes from none other than his mother Chloe. I've decided to mix things between them, while Adam is more like Chloe, their daughter, whom I'm going to introduce on next thread, got Gavin's shyness, and is pretty much a geek, making a good best friend for Lake. Yep, Peter is related to Heather by marriage now, he and Taylor found each other, lol. As for the continuity, I'm using my main thread on At The Cabin as a base, so Peter and Heather didn't have that heated make out session from the orgy threads. Brandon and Ashley rekindled their romance at college, after both of them had some more experience. There's still a third kid besides Alice and Austin, I'm going to introduce her later. As for Zack and Heather's large family, I can't quite remember if I broached this subject on my threads, but Heather always felt a bit lonely for being an only child, thus the reason why she latched on to Kurt as a kid and the reason she became so mad at him when he changed. So, she decided to have a large family, so that any eventual son or daughter didn't feel as lonely as herself.
Posted a new thread about the new generation kids. Decided to use johnhoftb's suggestion about some of them having a silent conversation as Taylor and Hannah have and Zack and Ashley had on one thread of At The Cabin.
I've had an idea for a follow up to your last "Celebrating an Engagement" scene bouncing around my brain since you posted it. But, I don't want to step on any toes, so wondering if it's ok to write it up?
It didn't hit me until after i posted the thread today, but creating a twin for a main character suddenly hit me as a big deal. However my story is a "horror movie" and i hope you all treat it as such. In other words, nothing I come up with should be added to the cannon of any character in The Cabin-verse nor should be considered a deviation from it. It's all a fantasy using those characters as a base
Thinking about taking the "Celebrating an Engagement" segment and turn it into a standalone story with a few changes, instead of Silver Lake Park being the setting, maybe having it at some hotel, mansion or resort, and include Josh and Alice's families into the mix, turning the whole thing into a party held by the families to celebrate their engagement and getting to know each other better.
I'd be cool with that. I did my responses b/c I liked the story setup and the characters you created, not because you set it within the cabin-verse.
It's a small idea yet. The only reluctance I have about doing it is that it'd become a very similar setup to the one I have in mind for the future of At the Cabin. Well, let's see what I can come up with.
Shit man, why didn't somebody tell me I had so many typos in my threads? lolol -- Anywhoos, I corrected and reedited them to ease the story's flow. I really do want to get back to writing and not saying that I want to, and a scene between Heather and Rohit will probably be the next. Revisting their "night under the stars" as it were
Welcome back, Yarkoz! Take your time, real life gets in the way of writing more often than I'd like as well, lol. Looking forward to your Heather/Rohit scene.
wanted to bump this thread up. Big story coming, won't post until I'm finished hopefully tonight or tomorrow. (40+ chapters already written) I'll spell out the details after I publish the first part.
of course i post this, then get called into work tomorrow. Still plugging away and i will publish at least the first chapter tomorrow. maybe more if I get it edited
Okay update. I am at a point where I can go into the ending sequence, but it's possible after a few more chapters a better opportunity may arise I'm planning to do two endings. i'm open to do others if the possibility arrives. (and what i'm saying will make more sense after I post the story) So anyway will post the first chapters tonight, write a few more chapters to see if anything else comes up. The chapters will require a lot of editing as I just wrote and wrote so the roll out will be slow but steady, and of course when they get approved. I'm really excited about this and can't wait to share more
Just published. Using the "Engagement" storyline Duskford started I advanced to that night and the group decides to play "Strip high card/low card." Of course this is similar to the spin the bottle storyline in At the cabin, in that I didn't plan it out in advance, I just let the cards decide. Initially I used a random number generator (2-14) to determine the draw. after three rounds I decided it would be much easier to just use a real deck of cards. (i should have done this initially, but wasn't thinking as I had carried over from the original idea) Also after the third round I established the seating order (placed in the initial post after the fact) and maintained a strict order of how cards were dealt. Low card deals, person to left gets first card, clockwise order) Once I started using the cards the story really took off for me, became almost addictive, which is why I kept writing and writing. With each card flip I'd look at high/low and be brainstorming the story. Sometimes a late draw would change everything. I wasn't able to use some fun ideas. But, the cards also created fun situations I'd have never thought of. I'd love to find a mathematical way to do it, but I mostly just followed my gut on how each scene unfolded. Each person comes into the game with a relationship with everyone else, or lack of one. And so I went from there. Josh and Alice would obviously be willing to immediately do more with each other, while they would be less likely to do things with others. Similarly, single people would be quicker with each other, less quick to do things with Alice or Josh. Of course personality also matters. I saw Sean/Sharon as most outgoing, with Diane right behind. Lily is obviously the shyest of the group. The last factor was the game itself. Multiple interactions between two people or between a person and someone's bf/gf could create an increasing affinity or aversion, depending on the circumstances. The rules do change as the game goes on, mostly to speed it up as I made some mistakes early (not making shoes a single item) and tried to make up for that. I will note that if a rule change affected the chapter it came up that was pure coincidence. Happy coincidences for the most part. I wrote the story as it unfolded. Each chapter I'd write the intro, then I dealt the cards. After that I'd write the reveal of the cards. If there was a tie I wrote until the tiebreaker, then dealt those cards. This is something I want to hold fast to in the editing. While I'll fluff up each chapter I'm going to try and avoid promoting later stories after the fact. Instead I'll look to explore the characters thoughts in the moment as though I don't know what will happen. This will be tough, but is my goal As of now I have two endings planned. and if you think about it you can figure out the two possible ways to end it. After I post my first ending, I will probably wait a few days to post the second. I have no idea how long it will take me to edit/post but I wanted a quick rollout because I felt this is the kind of story that would lose steam taking months to finish I also apologize to Duskford for hitting him with 60+ chapters over the next few days. This story has been a lot of fun to write, and I hope it is as fun to read.
Don't worry about the number of threads, the more the merrier, lol! I'm glad someone decided to make a story with those characters, looking forward to read it (came here first, going to check it out now).
after you started this story i actually spent time brainstorming how i would write it out. had a plan for each character. wont spell it out, but if you look at how I positioned the characters in the circle, is kind of an easter egg for how I imagined it all. not perfect, there are two girls next to two guyss where it is mixed up, but still an easter egg
Read the published threads and enjoyed it very much. These kind of stories are fun to mix up the pairings and see what happens, watch the characters' reactions and all. I remember, when I first posted the branch, I wanted to write a scene with Sean and Kevin having both Alice and Tara in a four way and Josh and Devon angrily watching it as the debauchery took place, the girls swapping on the two men, they taking one of the girls at once and repeating it on the other, lol, it was fun imagining the scene. Never got the chance to write it, though.
oh damn, those would be some fun scenes. I'm done for the night as far as posting more (about to crash) but 8 hours or so from now will get back to editing, publishing the story i mapped out was that Sean and Sharon hooked up immediately. Everyone headed down to the lake but Alice noticed those two missing so she heads back to the cabin and watches Sean having his way with Sharon. Sharon sees her watching. Sean takes advantage of this and constantly teases her (not overtly, but putting himself in positions that make her uncomfortable) Diane goes after Devon. She teases him, asking him if he has ever taken advantage of someone he arrested and making it clear she would enjoy being handcuffed. Lily approached Sharon and asks for advice on seducing someone. She implies it's Kevin, but really it's Josh. So eventually Lily awkwardly tries to seduce Josh, Sean teasing Alice comes to a head, diane fucks devon, and tara hooks up with Kevin/sharon, because they are left over (hadn't figured that story out yet) elements of what i just proposed will definitely show up in the story
