I've got a few stories that are female first person POV, and being a guy I often need pointers, especially with women's fashion. Like, 'what are those three quarter length trousers women wear called?' , 'what are the different types of women's shoes called?' etc etc. Google probably thinks I'm cross dressing.

From RicoLouis' list, I'm pretty sure you're looking for Pedal Pushers, but I have also seen these referred to as Clam diggers and Capri Pants.

OMG ! What a great resource that is! Saved to favourites now! Thanks for the link, it will help me no end. From memory, I think the term I used at the time was capri pants. It doesn't help that sometimes I write from a US-centric story and other times I write from my native UK, where terms and sizes for clothing can be very different. And don't get me started on Australia, where thongs are flip-flops!
