Wait, are we not supposed to use certain words? I’ve been writing without a care in the world. What happens if you use one of the banned words?
Wow that sucks hard. So there’s not even a black bar showing new readers the story’s been censored? It just looks like you’ve made a typo? Aw man that’s rough
Would the censored words become visible once my account becomes old enough? ( one month is what I gathered from reading different posts and forums). Also, would some of the hidden stories and tags reappear after a month? I'm loving the site since a long time but only created the account a short while ago and it's quite frustrating to have to guess so many missing words.
Thanks for your feedback! We now allow the words in the text. The use of the words has no effect on the visibility of the chapters or story.
Thanks for the reply! Does this apply to chapter titles and tags as well, or just to chapter text? That is -- can I use a word like "drunk" in a chapter title without consequence?
Yes, this also applies to the titles and tags. You can use the words, they just won't be visible to visitors. As soon as you log in, they become visible.
I'm late to this discussion but wanted to mention that darkwanderer net is a similarly niche erotica site to this one that hosts a bunch of stories featuring those critical terms/words. Maybe ask them how they do it?
Good golly. Late here and only semi-back from retirement, but I'm genuinely saddened by the issues this fine site and the people behind it are facing. That list of banned words is genuinely crippling, and people never have and never will want to create an account in a porn site that they are not otherwise very invested in. Best wishes, knowing you folks and we folks deserve better. You're better than us perverts deserve, Friedman and admin. Peace and good will.
I just created an account, after coming over to the forum to see if I could figure out why so many stories seemed to be occassionally missing words. I'm not sure what all the words were, but from context were presumably all pretty innocuous. I still see missing words with the account, which I guess is because I'm new. Just came across, for example, a reference to characters going "to a pub for some pool and a bit of ." Looking at the list of violating terms from earlier in the thread I'm guessing "drink" or "liquor"? Edited to add - apparently I'd been logged out due to inactivity - the mystery word was "alcohol"
Oh so that's what happened. I was wondering why one of those words wasn't showing in a chapter title in my notifications. It sucks that you had to go this route, now visitors will probably think we're all worse writers than reality.
The Mind Control category is now available to everyone, and related words have been removed from the word filter.
Saddened that this site had to resort to what it did. Feels like the Internet is just getting more and more sanitized for no good reason. 90% of the stories I used to look for don't seem to ever show up anymore.
Some of these terms still produce no results when searched, even though my account is more than a year old. Is there a reason for this?
Thank you for your concern! I'm probably the least happy about it. I have already relaxed the restrictions significantly. All stories can be accessed as long as you have an account with a confirmed email address. This is the current list. The reason is still that stakeholders make demands, generally speaking. Spoiler: Critical terms family reluctance reluc incest non-consent non-con non- consent non consent non con nonconsent dubious consent questionable consent non-consensual reluctant rape raped dub-con degrade begging to stop noncon gangrape forced kidnapping blackmail slave drugged drugs drug alcohol booze bestiality beastiality torture molest murder death unconscious violent violence non/con assault assassination assassinate choking choke young pain drunk scared no choice abducted desperate vulnerable hopeless inebriated drinking drinks drink crying groping coercion coerced force children child revenge extreme necrophilia pedophilia pedo unconcious abuse
How new does the account need to be? I can't remember when I made my account, but I posted my first chapters in 2020. I noticed that a whole story that I had written chapters for has now disappeared and I can't even see the chapters that I wrote for it. I assumed it had been deleted, but from this post it sounds like maybe it is just hidden? Do the categories of stories from the banned word list still exist somewhere? If so, how can I access them?
