The word is not shown to people who aren't logged in, or who have new accounts.Wait, are we not supposed to use certain words? I’ve been writing without a care in the world. What happens if you use one of the banned words?
Wow that sucks hard. So there’s not even a black bar showing new readers the story’s been censored? It just looks like you’ve made a typo? Aw man that’s roughThe word is not shown to people who aren't logged in, or who have new accounts.
Yes. With an old enough account the site functions just as it did before.Would the censored words become visible once my account becomes old enough? ( one month is what I gathered from reading different posts and forums). Also, would some of the hidden stories and tags reappear after a month? I'm loving the site since a long time but only created the account a short while ago and it's quite frustrating to have to guess so many missing words.

So what exactly happens?
My stories are not of the category of what this list is meant to guard against -- but I've definitely used some of the words here in both story text and tags. Of this list, there are some words that have plenty of completely normal connotations:... evenbooze, drunk, violent, young, pain, scared, rough, hopeless, crying, groping, helplessare legit words for a story without them having to be inappropriate characters.child and children
If these words are in my story or in my tags ... is my story invisible to the public?
More curious than concerned ... really just wondering how this list impact folks who truly aren't pushing the envelope into risky territory.
Thanks!

can you explain exactly what legal reasons you're talking about? Thanks for the encouraging words! Yes, it's a shame, and I'm not happy with the current situation. I'm trying to find a solution.

Thanks for the reply! Does this apply to chapter titles and tags as well, or just to chapter text? That is -- can I use a word like "drunk" in a chapter title without consequence?

Oh so that's what happened. I was wondering why one of those words wasn't showing in a chapter title in my notifications. It sucks that you had to go this route, now visitors will probably think we're all worse writers than reality. Thanks for the encouraging words! Saddened that this site had to resort to what it did. Feels like the Internet is just getting more and more sanitized for no good reason. 90% of the stories I used to look for don't seem to ever show up anymore.
