Goblins in most fantasy settings seem to be an arrow-fodder race who get killed in huge numbers during conflict, but still seem to multiply rapidly. Goblin girls would need to be extremely fertile and have very short pregnancies to keep up the numbers of the horde. They probably mature much faster too. A comedy episode could be that an adventurer has a good night of fucking with a Goblin girl before going off on a short adventure. Two weeks later he returns to find she has already had sextuplets, who are running around at the toddler stage and call him daddy.

 

Big and small are relative terms. Besides, I didn't say they lacked facial hair. I just said maybe they lack full grown beards.

 

With greenskins I like to think that they both have reproductive sex that produces offspring that grows rapidly to maturity, albeit more like an insect were they have a larval stage that hatches into an adult greenskins.
Greenskins also come from holes in the ground as fully grown adults.

I once wrote a chapter about an unsexy goblin girl enjoying a human slave boy, it was not as popular as the chapter with the sexy orc slave girls.

 

Cute, eager Halflings are always a mood. The webcomic Alfie is a lovely little example of that.
It does always make me giggle, the lengths that people go to to make the more outlandish fantasy critters fuckable.
I always alternate between wanting to depict Elves as bold, badass, ethereal beings, or arrogant warrioresses who are constantly on the brink of a devastating instant loss.

 

I still don't understand why "ugly guy rapes a pretty woman" is such a popular trope in erotic writing and comics. I for one prefer the monsters looking pretty as well. Fred Perry for example has a few comics with elves and trolls, but the trolls are either amazonian beauties or massive but hot athletic dudes. (Then again, his porn is also consensual rather than rape-porn.)


Heck, even in non-con, I prefer hot participants.

 

The real reason for this is because all of us are taught from the time we are little that men are supposed to be ugly and in control while women are supposed to be pretty and controlled. The ugliness of men is relative because if a man is too ugly, he gets teased mercilessly but a man who is too pretty also gets teased mercilessly. We are born into these pressure cookers of conformity to strict gender norms that really aren't necessary. The peer pressure is so bad that people even assume intelligence or lack there of based on conformity to the gender norms. And this peer pressure comes from teachers, parents and other adults, not just other kids.

 

IMO, you can't get that kind of resentment, bitterness, almost borderline hatred of women, angry, "I will take what has always been denied me, and give no fucks about the consequences", kind of energy, by being even moderately average looking. That women are apparently into.

It's a cathartic release from when you kept getting turned down purely because the 9 in your class/office/down the bar can get the girl by just winking at her, while your mid-6 ass has to front-flip backwards blindfolded through a spiked flaming electrified hoop, just so that she can look in your direction.

 

If you are a misfit, you get punished by society through merciless teasing and if you are not a misfit but you don't punish the misfits with merciless teasing, then you get punished by our society through merciless teasing.

And because we can't admit, not even to ourselves, that we conform out of fear, we convince ourselves that we chose, of our own free will, to be exactly what society told us to be.

Some variations on the manly man controls pretty woman have become acceptable but even these acceptable variations are only slightly different from the standard that gets shoved down our throat. Femdom is one variation in which the female is in control but even in femdom, the female must be pretty and the male must be manly and often the only control the woman may have is to order the man to control her, "Fuck me now." Lesbian is another variation but this variation isn't true lesbianism where two women love each other. The acceptable variation is two women who love being controlled together by the manly man. Incest is another variation but only if it's manly son and pretty mom or manly brother and pretty sister.

If you fantasize about anything that isn't an acceptable variation, you've been indoctrinated from birth to hate yourself for having such fantasies. You've been indoctrinated from birth to punish yourself and insist that you have no such unacceptable fantasies.

I realize I am very late replying to this, but just wanted to point out that at least one such setting already exists. In the works of Raymond Feist (at least the ones I have read) there is no such rivalry, (regular) elves and dwarves get along just fine.

 

Even if they grow faster, they need to be 18+ for the fun stuff.

Do you prefer your elves to be Dominant or submissive?
I am always torn between portraying elves as magical psychopaths who are a reflection of the worst aspects of humanity in a powerful and superficially beautiful package or as the perfect slave race whose smug superiority has to square the circle that is being magically bound to serve their human masters.
In the former, they encourage humanity to embrace their sadism and lusts while in the latter they are focused on maintaining their place as humanity's most favored servants.
Both versions of elves find ways to take advantage of their longevity to imprint on whole generations of humans.

 

I would not write Elves as a slave-race. It just doesn't seem fitting. Individual elves as slaves works though. It is a bit silly if you have an elf that's been the slave in a noble family for generations though. (At least one manga did this and the MC points out that the elf could have broken free at any moment she wanted, so she was probably into this and took a "vacation" pretending to be a slave for a century.)

And that's in the context of the worst kind of slavery, chattel slavery. There have been less horrible types of slavery throughout history, for example in the Ottoman Empire, in which slaves could reach high rank.

Also, historically, many noble-born children were raised by servants and slaves, and it was common for them to develop a real parent/child relationship well into adulthood. I could definitely see a story in which an Elven slave raised the children of one particular family for generations on end.

 

As long as you don't go to the ridiculous extreme that J K Rowling did. Elves might become so accustomed to slavery that they prefer it to freedom but they still wouldn't choose to be extremely mistreated. Those slaves that loved their masters were the house slaves or the high ranking slaves. The field slaves and those put to hard labor did not love their masters.

 

In any case, if I were to write about slavery, it would be of the sexual kind or some sort of indentured service most likely. Slavery is a special kind of evil and while having villains do something like that is not an issue to me, I just consider it a bit too iffy if you get down to the visceral details.

 

So in my erotic fantasy stories, there is a sort of theme or trope that carries between settings.
Y'all remember in The Bible how God gives mankind Dominion over the world and all of the beasts within it?
Well, humans in my stories can use divine magic to force non-humans to believe God is watching them and judging them. Those who are so magically bound cannot help but feel like if they fail in their duties as slaves, then they will go to Hell. The slaves are kept in line by their own guilt and shame.
The humans take it for granted that the psychological impacts of the slave codes being imposed upon their chattels' minds as heavenly mandates compels the tamed monsters to zealously serve, obey, and please their human owners.

There are no "slave races" in my fairy stories, but there are monsters that can be tamed, trained, and domesticated.
The issue is, do humans believe elves ought to be be under their dominion like all the other monsters or do humans believe that elves are special and that God placed the beautiful long-lived race of torture junkies as mankind's equals or superiors?
Do humans think that they can use the same spells that compel orcs and furries to work their fields to make an elf want to warm their bed?
Would the spells work or would the elves laugh off human attempts to enthrall their souls?

And that is in the mundane world with humans enslaving other humans without magic.
Add magic, interspecies competition, and the a multiverse of realms from which to plunder, and calculus of cruelty changes.

Regardless of whether humans can bind elves or not, the elves will absolutely use their longevity to exploit the naivete of the young and the nostalgia of the old to make humans see them in the best of lights.
Even when they are slaves, the elves are running the house. Like Steven in Django, they are the power behind the throne.

The one race so far that I have as immune to soul-binding magics are Dwarves.
Dwarves know exactly who they are, who made them, and why they exist. Dwarves cannot be bound by human magics because they are bound to something much, much stronger.
Humans do not mind this since it means that Dwarves are reliable business partners with access to a transcosmic trade network.
