I also had a message notification from someone but didn't see anything. I can't remember if something I did made it go away or if it went away on its own. It was quite a while ago though.
I'm running a script that updates the badge of the unread messages. Everything should be back to normal in 1-2 hours.
Hey, I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but I've been getting repeated notifications from the same few chapters in game monster for the past 2 days or so. saying that they've published a new chapter. At first I thought that it might be the author who didn't check the box for silent updates when they made minor edits but, but on the story map those chapter pop up as having been read (grey) and not updated (blue) and the latest date they were uploaded/udated was 09/10 which was yesterday (today is 10/09) Regardless it's a bit annoying, but I don't think the author has anything to do with it, especially when the update says it's from a few minutes ago but the author hasn't been on for the past 18 hours. Can confirm. There's a chapter that I approved yesterday for A Fantasy Dynasty that's doing the same thing. There were two that were doing it, but one finally sorted itself out and stopped notifying me about itself.
I changed the worker settings and hope that solves it. It would be interesting to know if the notification repeated 3 times. Did you count that by chance?
Thanks, I didn't count, but I'd say it was at least three times, not including the notifications I got about 10min ago, same chapters. If it helps, I know that I left a like and commented on those very same chapters not yesterday. I'll post again if I see that it happens again.
Unfortunately, I did not count but both chapters were approved at the same time. One sorted itself out after awhile and the other was continued until today.
Having issues with notifications as well. The last 4 notifications I've gotten keep renewing themselves. When I refresh the page it looks like I have a few new notifications, but when I open them, it's the same chapters over and over, just with a new time on it. I read the chapter(s) yesterday morning when it was released, but since then it has apparently also been "published" about 10 times, always even more recently.
Also having the same problem, getting several repeated notifications about chapters I have already read and not receiving notifications about new chapters till a few hours later.
I keep getting old notifications for chapters as if the authors are deleting the chapters and reposting it again and again, but the chapters in the story map shows that they were posted the same time as the original notification. I've gotten upwards of 10 notifications for just one chapter being posted over a day or 2.
I get updates for one or two old chapters (well from a few days ago) but I’m also not seeing many notifications. I’ll randomly see a story on the main page that from a few hours ago that I have favorited or follow the author but got nothing except one alert about that ‘new’ chapter from Thursday. I haven’t gotten a single proper notification today in fact
I'd like to state the same has happened to me, sometimes it says a chapter has been published when someone comments on that chapter. Also when someone publishes a new chapter a previous chapter name comes up in the notification, even if it was a couple of chapters ago. Don't know if this is new information to you but just thought I'd share.
Come to think of it, I haven't had a single update notice from other stories and author's I follow since this glitch started, even though they tend to have a high output of new published chapters. I think someone else mentioned this above too. I still get notifications when readers fave, like or even comment on chapters I've commented on (but haven't written) though. So that's good. Otherwise I'd be even more miffed because those notifications are like the main reason I write as much as I do. At the moment it's mostly a minor annoyance. But I have noticed less traffic on my new chapters than I usually have, even though it is a weekend so perhaps it is a sign that the readers aren't getting notifications?
For me, notifications seem delayed for 4-6 hours if they ever come in at all. I haven't had issues with duplicates as I've seen others report though.
So recently I've come across a problem where I can't change what I'm sorting stories by. Any time I open the tab and try to select a different option, like chapter depth for example, it always resets back to default of recent. It's been this way for a few days and I can't find a way to get around it. It does this for me on mobile too. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
This should have been fixed by now. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this problem. Could you give an example (steps, url)? Which browser, which operating system?
I don't really have any specific examples other than that if I try to sort by anything other than what it default sorts by it won't let me. I use Opera GX, but I've tested it on other browsers and it does the same thing on all of them to me. It's not really too much of a problem for me, I tend to not do much searching anyways. I just figured I should at least let it be known it was an issue.
