1001 Quick Story Ideas

113. What if, when an artist dies, their portrait that had the most effort poured, or most emotional piece that they've done, comes to life?

Say that the Mona Lisa comes to life, or a friend of the MC croaks and their last wish is to inherit their final artwork. At first it's shrugged off as hearing things, only for the portrait (assuming it's a portrait of a person, not landscape) to reveal that they're semi-sentient and alive, just trapped forever in the background and frame that they live in.

Maybe I need more coffee.

I'm obviously a total noob here lol. I'll get it right eventually. Thanks so much for giving it a read. And thanks to Warden for relinking it.)

So inspired, I just knocked out my first not-strictly-cis-het chapter involving a gurl (in a different story). I feel quite liberal and PC now. Thanks TripleV.
Possibly not the finest work of literature though (mine that is).

114: Dorian Grey.
Remains young and beautiful and with an irresistable appeal to any woman he approaches. Meanwhile, his picture suffers for every depravity.
Dorien fucks 4 girls in a row - no problem, his picture is clutching his balls in agony at over-use.
Dorien fucks some questionable ladies down at the docks - his picture has a collection of STDs instead of him.

Hmm, proper image inspiration. I wonder what the girl with the pearl earring has just noticed you doing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_with_a_Pearl_Earring.
Maybe your story is that the protagonist has a way of communicating / communing with characters in paintings. Can then learn a lot about what has gone on in a place from the characters who have watched it year after year.

Coffee is to you as spinach is to Popeye?

That's actually funny, as I had her in my mind before writing. But seeing as it's a popular image, it might've not been the best one to use because historical and cultural importance and whatnot.

But I like the Night of the Museum-esque idea. Would have some nice interactions, but I imagine this would only matter for art/history/culture buffs rather than erotic authors. But hey, what do I know?

Also yes, coffee is my spinach. It's less healthy sure, but it helps.

Will anyone be aroused at the idea of caveman sex?

Can you imagine that? Almost/Fully naked men and women trying their best to survive, and having a natural instinct to keep fucking so their numbers wouldn't dwindle?

Maybe - Will Racquel Welch be in it?

I'm guessing there would be a bit of nautral selection with the males with the best attributes having a pride of lionesses up until the point that the new male on the patch overthrows him when he's past it (round about age 27)
Yep - I'm there - I can see it already. Surely its you shaping reality though.

I had a germ of an idea for something similar.

Fucking through the Ages.

It was a sci-fi Meta story where the PC, would plug in to their V/AR system, and go through simulations of what sex might have been like in the olde days.

Starting off with prehistoric times, Roman empire, the Viking Age, etc etc...

What stopped me from actually following through, is I have no idea how to articulate speech, before it was "invented". And too lazy to invent/research a semi-plausible sci-fi future.

Perhaps going with the Bill & Ted route of surface level language barrier, instead of a linguistic language barrier by copying the mannerisms of the past, would make a good option.

Also, don't know why I called this the Bill & Ted route since I never really watched their movies completely. Just going to guess that they disregarded all sorts of social and oral conventions of the times.

You could go with the Hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy Babel-fish idea.
You just stick a convenient thingy in your ear and it instantly translates everything you say and hear into whatever you and the people you are talking to understand.
Pretty sure Doctor Who uses something similar - the tardis translates everything everyone says near it into what they understand.
