My internet connection didn't work so well for the past day, so I took the time to reflect about the story and things that still needed to be decided. So, I think I found a way for the elusive pairing of Zack/Heather to work on the sequel as well. Someone suggested an open marriage a few posts back and I've reached a similar solution; they would have a loving relationship but when one of them wanted to have sex with someone else, the other would have to be present as a rule defined by both of them. The story would be along these lines: Heather would be the president of her father's company by the time the sequel starts, and she will organize some sort of a week long trip to board members, trusted employees and their children. Zack and Heather's kids would go on the trip as well, and at first they have no idea about the kind of marriage their parents have. As for the other characters, Gavin would be an employee at the company, heading some department. He married Holly, Chloe's sister. Chloe will return as well, she'll take on a career path that I'll set up on the first story. For Victoria, I'll use the movie star idea that I mentioned a few posts back and I still don't know for sure about Brandon and Ashley. Kurt is definitely out for the sequel.
So, much has been said about the sequel but not too much about the current story. Therefore I thought that I should share my plans for it as well. When I started writing the story, my plan was to write a different story for every girl that could end as Zack's main pairing, although now I decided to simplify things. I'll continue my current storyline and add scenes with each one of the girls for Zack, along with hints that he could end up with them. Then at the end of the story, I'll add a thread where he has to choose which girl he wants, allowing me to write an ending for each girl. So far, it'll have six endings: Chloe, Heather, Victoria, Ashley, Hannah and Taylor.
I'm realizing that with my thread starting with Zack's confessions to his sister Taylor after break, that I've set myself up to recap all of Yarkoz's open threads starting from the second day's mismatched couples through an unwritten week or so up till Zack coming back from the cabin. Wish me luck, throw suggestions my way, or contribute to Duskford's fine story. -Z.
That'll be a real challenge, Zingiber. I think I remember telling Yarkoz that the fun part of his threads would be the aftermath. Everyone playing with whom they weren't supposed to is bound to create a lot of tension around the cabin for the rest of the trip. One thing that I wanted to ask after reading your latest thread, your version of Zack and Taylor already had some sort of sexual contact before or she was just teasing him with the vibrator to see what he'd do at the end of the thread?
Well, it IS a choose-your-own-adventure story, so I figure: 1) He won't call her on it; 2) She's teasing, and will tell him so if he calls her on it. 3) She's pretending to tease him, and would enjoy it if he's bold enough to stick around. None of these presume they've done anything that would count as sex, and at Zack's age and for Chyoo, it couldn't have been much. I tried to establish that they're close (Zack will tell her about girlfriends), casual about their bodies (sharing the bathroom and talking while she's on the toilet) and physically affectionate (hair brushing, shoulder rub), but I didn't think they had anything really sexual going on together. But maybe they HAVE been fooling around, so: 4) He knows she's pretending to tease him, and will stick around and ask about HER Spring Break. Or something else: we aren't limited to four options! To be honest, I didn't have much planned past the first few days in terms of story, but, in case you're interested Zingiber, my end of the second day would lead to a weird confrontation with Dale and Cassidy over Brandon and Chloe. Basically (spoilers I suppose) Dale and Cassidy, who are actually brother and sister in case anyone thought they were just pretending, are leaders of a group of aggressive libertines, willing to explore their own sexuality with each other and attempt to seduce attractive people to join their group. Brandon and Chloe were already unnerved by them, so they skipped out after lunch when both were busy, and hid on the farm. Dale and Cassidy would get frustrated finding them, and have sex to relieve the tension, but they'd actually be within eyesight of Brandon and Chloe, and typical voyeuristic fooling around happens between them, and they'd get caught. Meanwhile, after everyone made it back to the cabin, Heather would learn which direction they went, become immediately worried about their safety after recounting her side of the story that Dale mentioned at the beginning. She would mount a rescue operation, and I figured that Zack and Ashley would come along to help her, along Jennifer and/or her boyfriend ranger would find them and provide a sense of real authority. Dale and Cassidy would be forced to surrender Brandon and Chloe, and everyone would return to the cabin unharmed. If you want to work that into your flashbacks, feel free. The way I was thinking about it was that something bizarre happens to each coupling each day, and eventually everyone finds out about what has happened. Things I am sure about in my path is that Victoria actually loses her virginity to Gavin, Kurt tempers somewhat but is still generally disliked, and Zack and Ashley keep sneaking off to have sex and keep rationalizing it to themselves until Brandon finds out. I'm not sure about Chloe or Heather (as much as I like writing Heather). But those are my thoughts, don't let them get in the way of your creativity Zingiber!
I was tempted to have Brandon and Chloe chicken out with Dale and Cassidy but set up something on the way back. Either one of them gets hurt trail running or Brandon talks Chloe into helping him get back at Ashley for all the teasing, maybe by switching shorts or underwear so Brandon can freak Ashley out. Very interesting and creative storyline on Brandon and Chloe, Yarkoz. I've planned something similar on my threads, although mine is more of a search operation than a rescue group. After Kurt's machinations with the pictures and Gavin's phone, Gavin and Chloe will get lost in the woods and Zack will set out to find them.
Noticed an interesting thing about my version of Heather today, she ended up being a synthesis of the other five girls. She has Chloe's easy banter, Ashley's sex drive, she's curious and smart like Victoria, voluptuous and provocative like Hannah and shares Taylor's dark brown hair and blue eyes.
The interpretation of Heather changed a lot over the newer storylines. At the start she is described as wild but not a slut. In the newer threads she is far more sinister. Something similar happened to a lot of the characters, especially the girls. When everyone wants to fuck everyone else just for some reckless fun there is not much difference to the character of Kurt. Mabe that is the reason he plays only a small role in the later threads of Vain. I think the alternatives are told best in different storylines. I personally like the storylines where the characters care about someone or something or have a devotion to their relationships. It is not as interesting when the characters do not care about their love interests being unfaithful or fucking around. Of course that doesn't mean that there shouldn’t be some twisted, surprising or even bad outcomes and a lot of sexy situations. I plan to write a few new threads of my own, but there is so much to read in this story. The story is one of the best on this site. Thanks to all of you.
Agree with you, lorderotica, that's why in my storyline Zack has doubts between Heather and Victoria. He is so devoted to his crush on Victoria that maybe it is preventing his mind from seeing that Heather is a probably better choice, along with Heather's track record, lol. But I plan to make it even worse for him, with Ashley, Chloe, Hannah and even Taylor worming themselves into the picture. I'll do it this way so I can write an open story with just the endings being different, since it would be a tremendous workload to write a different story for each girl. As for Kurt, I'm having trouble in portraying him as more than an annoying threat to the girls. My original focus for him would be being an antagonist for Zack, where he would keep trying to fuck the girl that Zack likes and our hero would have to make the girl fall for him instead. But, as I said before, sometimes the story writes itself and send me to a different path than I previously imagined.
Ain't that the truth for creative writing -- and yeah, I can't envision Kurt being much more than a dick. I'm attempting to relax him a bit in my thread(s), though I'm not sure how much further his character will yield. And his fuck with Heather might be the only sex scene I'll write with him.
That's the thing with Kurt, you can't help but feel disgusted in giving him a serious sex scene, it's only possible in extreme situations like the one you wrote, Yarkoz; or in alternate paths like the one I wrote in which Chloe submits to him, constituting a "bad ending". But I still have hopes of turning him into a villain, I'm currently trying to work him in into the plot that I'm setting up in my storyline.
I figure I'll go ahead and ask this: I'm thinking of making a thread where Zack is the one who accidentally gave Chloe her body issues. Problem is, I'm having issues coming up with the actual scenario. Anyone have any ideas?
Maybe Chloe was involved in the weird things that happened 8 months ago at Ashleys birthdayparty. I was thinking about writing something myself, but couldn't decide about the storyline. Maybe she is wondering since then why he never talked about this night. To be more believeable there might have been something more than alcohol to live out some hidden feelings and let him losse his memory. Of course in this moment he would have been more aware that it wasn't Lisa as he acknowledges to himself in the car with Vicky (23.1 by Duskford) In some of your older Threads are some hints that Chloe might have an untold story with Zack. Or am I wrong with this interpretation?
He could've said something inadvertently callous to her once, and being her best friend that could've left its mark. I've had experience with that firsthand unfortunately. Either way, growing up with opposite sex friends through puberty and into the teenage years can be awkward.
While that wasn't my original question, that would be something interesting to explore. On a side note, when I had originally wrote Zach and Chloe's first time together (here), I don't think duskford's thread about the party had been written yet. My original intention was for Chloe to note she had lost her hymen during a soccer game, but that would be a convenient excuse for her if they did get it on drunkenly at that party. I came up with something like right after I wrote that post. At the age of 11 or 12, Chloe was insecure, but not full on body issues like she has now. She also had a crush on Zach and wanted to know what he thought of her body. She managed to get her mom to get her a bikini and tried showing off to Zach. Zach got aroused by Chloe, but since she was the first girl he got aroused by during puberty and the fact he probably thought of her as more of a sister, he instinctivly threw up some negative comments. Chloe kept away from Zach for a week or two and when they finally made up, Chloe had her crushing body issues. I think I'll use that, once I get to a place to put it.
You guys all had great ideas, especially the one where Zack threw a bad comment at her to hide his arousal. As for the party, I've left it open on purpose, in the case that someone wanted to explore different outcomes and identities for the girl. Of course, on my storyline I already know who it is, but it won't be revealed until near the end. It's even possible that the answer will be given only in an alternate ending.
You are right that your post is older. You explanation of this hints is not a total surprise. I was expecting this original intention. Maybe I will use my other idea. But Iam not sure about the way I would tell it. I think Yarkoz idea will work quite well. But in most of your storylines they are already past this body issues. Will you go back to an earlier Thread?
On my storyline, Chloe got a thrill of showing her ass to Gavin and seemed to be over it, but it'll all backtrack after she almost succumbed to Kurt in the woods due to showing her body for the pictures, she'll become afraid of doing it again. I can try to worm in some deeper reason for her issues, but I can't guarantee it'll be something similar to what was discussed above.
