Feast Hall of the Count of Henring, Two Weeks after Joining:
So much damned work, and for nothing. Cerim tries not to scowl as he sits in the lordly hall, all but invisible among the many feasting nobles, pagers and hangers-on. Getting a fake pass had involved a lot of prep work and not a little amount of pretending to be a girl, but Cerim had managed to track his prey inside the hall of a feasting noble. She's from an old family, so it makes sense she'd get an invite despite her money troubles.
Cerim briefly makes eye contact with the target, and feels the urge to look hurriedly away. He keeps his cool, though, and keeps looking for a second or two, before turning his head away to look at other women, acting like he was just casually looking around. The redhead noble turns away, not paying him any more attention. Looking around the hall for real, he sees that the snatch likely isn't happening tonight. The place is well patrolled, and there will be little chance of him getting her away if she resists without the lord's guards getting involved.
Cerim has been watching the redhead for two weeks. He'd found it surprising that the guild would give him a job like this, but it makes sense, he supposes, that they want to see his skills in his own element before trying to take different types of quests. His target is an impoverished noblewoman, the scion of a respectable house. Sadly for her, her late husband spent beyond his means, and left his wife with the debts. One of the creditors isn't willing to wait for her to find some money, but kidnapping nobles is frowned upon in this part of the continent, and so Cerim came into the picture.
