Hm yeah, if that is your metric that definitely strikes me as too harsh. If trap sucess=fight without inputs that's pretty much a guarantueed loss. The fights are simply too reliant on our inputs.

Just to be clear, I don't have an issue with this chapter in particular, it was pretty fair with how it played out and I definitely half assed my directions last time, so that's on me lol

But yeah, might want to rethink your trap approach.

One thing we should try out in regards to the eggs is talk to our spider pals, like the nice lady that gave us the dress. Maybe they can give us some advice what exactly we are looking at and how to deal with it.
If it's just an issue of, you have to give birth to them, it might be prudent to just...wait until that happens in town, better then to give birth during combat

 

I guess. My bad, I'll be sure to make sure you are allowed to give input during any fight regardless of scenario in the future.

I would like to raise the question to my fellow voice though after hearing what the Tower had to say. Should we switch to the ascension path or continue down the spider path?

Spider path has a few negatives, including trama we just gained, but we have a slightly better way to deal with spiders and webs.

Ascension path we are back with trickery and mind attacks which we have little defense for but our knowledge as voices. This however has been initially cleared so maybe the worst is behind us?

My vote is ascension, if nothing else but to just see what we are dealing with.

 

Well, the chief reason I want to go to the dream path is to see if we might not spot a trapped Isalia somewhere, so I also think we should check out the old mind.

Isalia is simply acting too suspicious for my liking. It seems our position on that subject have switched lol

But yeah I'm fine with going with ascension

Ok, so we gained some useful information. We have the halo and 2 healers in our group to possibly make the surgery safer, but the halo cost would be high. Birthing would be safe, but somehow I know Yulia will get yet another fetish somehow, so that could be bad. I lean towards birthing, but leave the choice to my fellow voice.

So we have a way possibly through the spiders now, but it requires further trusting of someone who we know is in direct contact with the Tower Below. I think we should shelf this possible solution until after we check out the ascension path.

Once again we need to prepare ourselves mentally! I want a rope tied between Cherchiel and Yulia and the another between Isalia and Goma. Please look out for each other and remain vigilant. If anything seems off Yulia i want you to drop a blizzard right away. I stand by what I said earlier that mimics don't hold up to physical trama and the blizzard as we tested is good for that while not being lethal.

 

This sounds like a complete no brainer to me.

We barely know who Andras is and I do not thrust this Isalia. This surgery would be the easiest way to get the drop on us.

Meanwhile the eggs got in already, that means they can get out that way as well

I agree that another fetish for Yulia is very likely, but that is still far more acceptable.

You probably want to take a rest after this ordeal.

Well this is strange to say the least. We slay 3 mind eaters, the problem doesn't gain control of one, but the old mind still is ok with us? A gift we will give seems rather foreboding, I assume the old mind is this exits boss and so assumes we will fight it.

Hey problem mirage, we have little patience left for games. We will be exploring the ascension path first. If you want this meeting with the Old Mind to happen then you must speak clearly and with purpose. You seem to still have your individual self seperated so I'll ask. You are no more problem. Speak your mind, are you a ghost in a mind or do you have a physical body somewhere.

Something helpful you could do to help Leave Problem is plainly tell us what gift we supposedly have. I have an idea but I'm curious if it's true.

Ah that's an easy loophole. The champion was given access so that means all of her belongings and companions are good as well. Easy.

Everyone is staying together. We are stronger as a team and it's never a good idea to split the party! We all go to the ascension path to see what we find.

If the problem wants to properly explain, no tricks, no persuasion, then maybe we can see this Old Mind.

With whether or not they were Mimics. Originally the answer was yes... then you used the spellbook on Cherchiel and I was like... Uh... Fuck... I don't want to screw them out of that... So, I waffled a bit on whether or not to keep them as Mimics...

 

I think with Isalia there where enough hints, but I really didn't suspect Cherchiel.

I suppose her devotion to Yulia was somewhat different, as I really couldn't see the OG Cherchiel hitting her, but I chalked that up to the spellbook.

That said, sticking to your guns is the correct choice here, it would be weird, if you outright retcon things that where hinted at in the chapters.

 

Yeah I just felt really bad about screwing you out of the Divine Grace spellbook when you had to give up Puppet to get it... I think though I have a way to fudge it...

 

I'm a little upset. I spent multiple chapters trying to test for mimics. I even called out when the test was poor but since we kept going I just did as well. But I did call out the lack of blood and seperation of "skin". Was there no way for us to prevent this, feels cheap...

And because of that now we have a buffed mimic and lost our angelic book? Just saw your latest post, maybe better. Book drops to the floor somehow? This is just getting worse and worse... I don't think we're making it past this floor anymore.

First and quickly, if you're still attached by the rope cut now! Goma immediately grab the boar mask and put it on! You are now Boarma!

Boarma your woman is in danger! Isalia who you care for beyond anything has been trapped, alone for days in this place. You are strong! This being partly a dream you are even stronger than you know! Now run, run faster than the wind! Feel the rush of power as you race towards Isalia and your friend Cherchiel! That tank will not and can not stop you, break it with ease! Once free of their cages heal them with the might of your new strength. We need everyone! You can do this, you are Boarma!!! Let loose a mighty roar once your woman is free and safe!!!

Yulia cut the rope if needed then undermine the mimic near Goma. Prepare to drink a mana potion, but wait for Goma to put on the mask then cast energize on her. Immediately drink a potion and cast blizzard on yourself trying not to effect Boarma. You need to delay or kill these mimics while Boarma gets backup. Energize yourself then Keep their attention, draw them away, and keep a side eye open for more mimics. If you see anyone but Boarma here i want you to send an icicle at it right away. Once Boarma roars as loud as she can i want you to join up with them, moving the blizzard as needed to provide cover. Mana potion again as needed.

 

Also, since this was so sudden and you did two posts I'm assuming what we're seeing is what it is... If this is some next level Tom foolery then i got nothing DX
