Hey, I have a story I’m no longer active on, and I think there is someone that would interested in adopting it. Is there a way to directly transfer ownership or do I have to put it up for adoption and then they adopt it ?

You can assign User Roles to other users on the Edit Story page. (You might want to ask the user before doing that.)
