I want to throw Talwa under the Dahlia bus for that fireball...

 

Why are we blaming Talwa when this is clearly a skill issue on Dahlia's part. She *just* challenged us to a fight a chapter or two ago, not to mention how she treated Yulia and co in this very room not long ago. If we'd taken up her offer to fight her, this firestorm would've been followed up with a bunch of plasma bolts and offensive spells. She should've just taken the L on getting hit with fire when she tried to block our path with a room full of flammable objects. But if she's going to threaten us...

I didn't want to play this card, but I think Gambio's right that the ring is our best option at this point. The next chapter is number 400, let's make it a big one.

 

Based on what she said, I don't think we can throw one person under the bus here. Plus we want to avoid losing any people (at absolute minimum, until Alide is done), and if she was knocked down this easily we probably aren't losing the fight. If she was going to be hard I would expect minor burns and a lot of anger not extreme pain and on the floor screaming.

Seeing as we are going for the ring, fine. Gambio's plan sounds good, but I want a less risky version. If it isn't going just about perfectly, kill her immediately. Pet Dhalia would be great but we don't need it and if we lost here because we were too greedy we could easily end up in a much worse place.

Okay everyone! I demand headpats and cuddles for Dahlia! Also put the fire out on her, this was one horrible mess.

All of the powers combined and it was barely better than a coin toss. I would cackle my vampire ass off if we party got wiped like this.

It will be way easier to work with Dahlia if we cheer her up a little, she might be forced to obey but there is no telling what she is able to do.

I propose we offer her some fun with Talwa(for burning her in the first place) and Yulia(she loves to toy with Yulia). Happy Dahlia is a Safe Dahlia.

 

She's not burning from that. The ring burns her cause she's a demon. It cannot be stopped except by removing it.

Yeah, the downside of the ring is it inflicts horrible pain on an Angel or Devil who wears it, which is why I was hoping we wouldn't have to use it. Fortunately, for us not her, Dahlia has a passive regeneration that seems to balance out the ring so she's in good shape physically if not mentally.

I'm assuming that Pressure spell she has is the maxed out version of Undermine, but I'm curious about that Death Curse. What sort of curse does it inflict? We should get her to tell us.

As for what to do with her, I'll let the other Voices decide if they want to have fun or move on. That said, it'd be good to make sure everyone is healed up in case we run into Alide in the next room. And the sooner we move on, the sooner we can learn about the next rooms. Another thing to keep in mind, even if Dahlia herself is under our control she may not have the authority to let us just pass through her Domain without issue.

 

Well, I'm glad we didn't try that any time before now, still success is success. I don't think giving her nice things is going to help molify her about the ring of excruciating pain, or the whole obedience thing. That said, if she has every fetish, both those points should be really exciting for her. And based on the curse for killing, we shouldn't kill her. So if regenerate isn't enough feed her the odd potion I guess. I'll let someone else do something with her if they want.

Practical things. What authority does she now have/not have related to her archdeamon/tower functionary roles? I'm guessing there is no infinite spell book glitch here. What did she do the Yulia and can she safely undo it? Can she tell where Alide is and if so where and keep us updated on that? What about Alide's traps? On the subject of locations, tell me a bit about the 4 domains we haven't seen yet, I wish to ruminate on them for a bit. And I don't suppose we can use those safety rules from Gambio's story or something similar, we don't want her trying to turn on us here. Speaking of, there is a slave related functionary, I wonder if they are going to appear.

That's all the questions I have for now. I might come back with some more later. Next steps, forward I guess. I presume Dhalia is going to give a free pass through whatever is there so we just keep moving to the next domain whoever's it is. And do keep an eye out for traps.

Well, since Dahlia has regen it's kinda not needed, so if she wants it she better begs properly for it and apologizes for calling Sally a machine.

I agree that Dahlia should have some fun with Yulia. After all she has a lot she needs to get Dahlia back for.

Since Yulia is fairly vanilla(lol) I suggest a spanking. While that's going on we can also ask some questions. Make sure to demand that Dahlia answers truthfully

Ah the safety orders. They are pretty good but have some intentional weaknesses that Dahlia could exploit. For now I would leave it at

I) Is not allowed to harm members of Yulia's Posse including herself
II) Is not allowed to take the ring of or attempt to break free of Yulia's control
III) no conspiring or coercion
IV) must remain within 300 feet of Yulia at all times
V) is not allowed to prevent herself from receiving orders(such as covering her ears, etc)

We also should designate a secondary master for Dahlia in the case Yulia is ever incapacitated or controlled. I don't want this to to be every member of the party since some(ok a lot) are a bit dicey.

I will be honest. I don't want to be too mean to Dahlia. She did get sucker punched after all and is also a reason why 75% of sex scenes even happened.

Now I'm wondering if we could speed up Yulia's corruption more. A bit late but it's never too late to be the worst version of yourself!

I was concerned about weaknesses, that's why I thought it would be best to get someone else to make some (better) ones. I'm better at finding loopholes than avoiding them. Also, I think you mean Yulia should have some fun with Dhalia, not the other way round. Dhalia has had quite enough fun up till now I think, although she might enjoy it anyway I suppose.

As far as that list goes, can we just put ourselves on it? Or is that cheating?

 

Newest Chapter: Dahlia Answers

 

I'm happy to move on. What are the other rooms in Dhalia's domain, and could you still force her away while we are here? And (more importantly) given we have effective control over them are there any that we can turn into an advantageous battlefield? If not we still have a neutral battlefield here, not that we have historically wanted it. The demonic gifts are intresting, we potentially have a nearly bottomless well of power there but it has the cost of curses that could just cripple our power. I think not for now, although an emergency gift if we need a rescue in a fight is acceptable, but are there any that might be particularly useful?

Unless we have a particularly good position to fight Alide here we can just push forward to whatever domain is next. Other than Morgana, none of them sound particularly bad, that said I'm sure there is nothing we can't overcome there. Come to think of it, is there anything on the other side of the domains that will actually help us fight Alide?

 

Huginn's priority list sounds good although I would put our two Angels near the bottom. Not that I don't trust them to act in Yulia's best interest but they aren't the best judge of characters when it comes to demons

We still haven't checked the gimp suit, unless Dahlia prefers the burning hand.

Makes sense that Dahlia lost her role as a Tower Functionary given she can't fulfill the role anymore. At least we won't have to worry about the replacement on this run, the last time we had to deal with a replacement (Malia Lustra) she gave us some headaches last floor. Depending on how things shake out, I suspect that the role of Demon of Gifts will also be replaced for the next run, but again not a concern for us now.

As for the Domains to go through next, I think Lydia and Quincy will be most manageable for our party. Lydia would be ideal for our next one if possible, since she'd help with Yulia's birth. Given her role of protecting children, I don't think she'd even put any strings on ensuring the safe birth of Yulia's child. Quincy using tech means Maple and Sally will be able to fill the role of dealing with traps, in addition to our usual suspects (Isalia, Lri, and Beck). Depending on the nature of the Domain, it may even have a similar system of charging items as Iralia did, which would let us use all our tech. Morgana might be the worst choice due to there likely being a wide variety of monsters that we can't predict that may have gimmicks that counter us in unexpected ways. Jasper will likely be tough too, but at least we've seen a good bit of the Tower's magic by this point and would know what to expect.

Since we've got arguably the best source of info in the entire Tower on our side now, I'm curious about what Dahlia can tell us about Malia Lustra. Is there any chance that she (or any of the other Archdemons besides Dahlia herself) could target us on this floor? Or is this floor now out of their reach since Dahlia is on our side and it's otherwise ruled by the Functionaries? I'm also curious about the identity/nature of Malia. The Abyss was really set on making Yulia the new Archdemon of Lust (although this seems to just be par for the course given Dahlia and Dreg killed their predecessors). Even after Malia appeared, she still seemed to want to put Yulia in that role if I'm remembering the scene last floor correctly. Is that due to pride, or is there some kind of restriction on Malia that came from being created in Yulia's image?
