If walking up and taking the armor isn't an option, and we aren't able to come up with any compromise with Levateinn, we should withdraw. I'm fairly confident we'd win the fight, but we'd suffer casualties and it isn't worth it. With this, we've also explored the entire floor, and it looks like we've only got one way to move on. I was hoping there was an alternate path to confronting the Abyss, but it seems that's the only way through.
Basically I say, short of Levateinn being willing to give up the armor for sex or a tea party or something where everyone walks away unhurt, we retreat. And we focus on getting ready to finish this floor. Have Martin make Cherchiel some new equipment, let Isalia get some rest, and maybe ask Lemiel what we'll be up against.

Looks like we will withdraw then.¨

I don't think we can reach a compromise with Levateinn. Not after what she had done so far.

As for crafting. I propose we use the remaining six steel ingot and make a chainmail for Cherchiel. Since she is now a fighter, she will have to move swiftly, so I think that's the best choice.

Did I fudge around with the results of this action... Maybe a little.

Huh. I guess we managed to hurt Levateinn more than if we'd actually fought her. I'm curious what's going through her head, but we've got more urgent problems right now.
Glad to have Cherchiel's stuff back. Goma and Isalia have both been weakened on this floor, so at least having Cherchiel back in top condition is comforting.
As for Lemiel, I don't think it'd do any harm to bring her along. That said, I'd prefer if all five of you can walk away from that fight if possible.
In regards to the One True God, I wonder if we could make a deal. Yulia and her party remain independent of the two major factions within the Tower, and can leave the Tower at the end of all this if they wish; but we won't start fights with the Tower Above, and the One True God gives us bounties for defeating notable figures from the Tower Below. Isn't that how the One True God operates, rewards for great challenges? I suspect (or rather, hope) that the Abyss we'll be facing here is an avatar like the one for the One True God we ran into at the end of the third floor. If the One True God is unwilling or unable to give us boons as incentives to join the Tower Above, wouldn't this be more in line with that philosophy?

It did offer boons. Maybe I worded the offer unclearly, but the offer that was made was... In return for Yulia agreeing to join The Tower Above and not going back to her world once she completes the tower, Lemiel would follow her from floor to floor acting as a second Alide, offering her boons similar to what she offered on this floor, angelic magic, celestially enchanted weapons, etc...

Hah, I have to admit the notion that this would hurt Levateinn the most did cross my mind, but even so I wasn't expecting we would get Cherchiel's gear back

We need every help we can get for fighting the abyss, so yeah I'd say we take Lamiel along.

Incidentally, we do have a way of preventing her from sacriicing herself by giving her the halo

    That is fairly risky though.

Anyways, we now have a couple of equipment choices to make. But before that, does Lamiel come fully equipped or would she benefit from getting some gear from us?

  7. TheLeherengin

    TheLeherengin Really Really Experienced

She will not be fighting. That is not what she's offering, she does have her own equipment if it comes to fighting though.

Also technically in terms of combat prowess, she's basically just Cherchiel, but better.

By the bounties, I meant we'd receive the boons without having to stay in the Tower afterwards, but we'd only get them after beating something like an Archdemon or whatever the situation with the Abyss fight is.

Ah I see... I misread your post as insinuating that the Tower Above had currently offered nothing in return for it's services.

While Lamiel's offer to support the OTG does sound intriguing, I can't see us taking her up on it.

We should take Lamiel along for the Abyss though.

Ok, so I say we give Cherchiel her old equipment back.

I'm not too sure about what to do with the Harvester gloves. I don't think anyone would really benefit from them but I'm open for suggestions.

Once we are done with this, it's time to confront the Abyss.

Dahlia considers it important that the voices understand fully the risks they are facing.

I don’t see any reason to give Lemiel away if we can help it. I say we fight.
Isalia should blow the horn for everyone. Yulia should cast Blizzard, use Energize on Cherchiel, Lemiel, and Goma, and then switch to lightning strike against the demons. (A note for Blizzard: exclude Dahlia from its effects as we do with allies, just in case her being hit by Blizzard would cause her to make a move.) Goma should use Puppet a couple times to turn demons against each other. Cherchiel and Lemiel should be able to put up a strong front line against the demons. After using the horn, Isalia should stay in the back and provide covering fire with silver throwing knives, and also keep an eye on Dahlia in case she does make a move.

I also say fight. Goma look for demons in the back who are casting something and puppet them to target the other demons instead. Goma and Yulia stay close while Cherchiel, Isalia, and Lemiel keep the demons away. Backs to the wall to help with the numbers. Yulia Blizzard, then i almost feel that it would be best to use all your mana on icicle and lighting while the others defend. Also horn should be blown!

16 Demons? Yeah we got this.

Before we start slaughtering these poor fools we should try to negotiate with them.

Yulia, Inform them that we already tore trough a similiar group back at Levateinn's

Back then we didn't have two powerful angels to help us.

    Or Yulia's double magic.

So, these demons should ask themselves if they really want to do this.

At this point I'd like for Goma to take control of one of the demons via puppet and have him run trough the pain door.

This should hopefully thin the herd a bit.

As for the battle proper, I think Emmie more or less covered the strategy

Emmie more or less covered the strategy

    My addition would be

Use the boar mask(we really forgot about it in the last fight huh?) on Cherchiel

I'm not sure about the use of silver daggers for this fight, I would prefer if we keep them in reserve for the abyss. I honestly don't think we need them for this fight, we are pretty op

Isalia, since you are still severly handicapped, I wantyou to assume the role of a tactician. We are dealing with a fairly large group of enemies so I'd like you to stay in the back and oversee the battlefield, making sure none of the demons(or Dahlia) get in our blind spot and direct the team accordingly.

If we are getting overwhelmed or Dahlia decides to join the fray after all we should retreat into the pleasure room and block the door. I leave that call for Isalia to make.

I'd also like some confirmation on one thing:

Lamiel is currently controlled by the One True God via her visor right? If we tore it off we achieved a similiar result to Cherchiel, where she would be loyal to us, but considerably weaker.

    Is this assumption correct?

I cannot specifically confirm or deny if removing Lemiel's visor will have the same effect, but the assumption so far has been that it would and Yulia earlier made the threat to do so which Lemiel seemed to respond to with fear so make of that what you will.

    Hm, got it

I'm contemplating putting the halo on Lemiel, to counteract what will most likely be a sacrifice against the abyss.

After the group would have to forcibly remove the visor, which would hopefully result in a Cherchiel 2.0

But, we still have this demon battle to go trough first anyways, so we should focus on that.

Yeah, on second thought, Isalia should only use the silver knives if Dahlia tries to get involved. It would be a waste to use them against the normal demons.

A Message From Lemiel to The Voices: Don't take the deal. I know if you don't then bad things will happen, but that's why I'm here. The One True God will protect Yulia and together we can beat the Abyss. I am ready.

    Wow these demon(imps?) suck

Also, you just had to run down there like this did you?

    Abe.

You could have at least offered to spare Lamiel and save her from her suicide mission You suck at negotiation

You know, I still think that accepting the deal here resulting in a bad end is...unfortunate. If it were similiar to the one true god's proposal, I would have given it some serious thought. (And no, not just because I want to see Demon Yulia)

I will give my strategy for the fight tomorrow, but I would like to know what my other voices think about the Lamiel Halo strategy?

Abe has just revealed that none of the girls will die even if we lose, so the Halo is not really needed on them for this fight

Of course, this still means we would throw away the Halo for a mere chance that things will work out with Lamiel later.

    It's certainly risky.

Since this is a pretty big decision I'd like it to be unanimous, so if anyone is against it I withdraw the proposal.

  20. TheLeherengin

    TheLeherengin Really Really Experienced

As was stated earlier the demons who come to Dahlia as supplicants are all lesser demons. Though even I didn't expect that to end up as such a complete blow out especially with Yulia falling to the sucker punch... Puppet and Boarchiel are just that powerful apparently >.>

    Also... Lol Abe...

I did wonder whether it being a bad end was absolutely required, but kind of decided yeah unfortunately... Although arguably it's not a bad end technically. It's a non-standard ending definitely, but it arguably counts as a victory as opposed to a loss.

Also I imagine this doesn't need to be clarified, but just in case... Yes losing against The Abyss will not kill any of the girls... What was shown though are in fact specific bad ends for each character that will result upon losing this fight. Losing this fight... Is a game over. I will say though... The fight will not in fact start immediately after making your choice, rejection or otherwise... The Abyss has one more offer up his sleeve afterwards and Lemiel has an offer of her own to make. Both of these will only occur if this current offer is rejected though.
