Nah, taking everything into account, this is the right choice. There is too much gambling involved with this Demonic Spellbook and while the end result could absolutely be better, it could also be worse.

Well then, I believe we should now move to test out Blizzard and while we are at it we might as well see which effect Life Drain has

Ideally, we would get them both to mastered. The Wild deep should serve well as a training ground.

Of course rest as required.

Ok, that went surprisingly well. Unfortunate that we miss out on possibly that Spell we just saw, but I think this is a better outcome.

So now the question is where to next... I feel we have gained a lot on this floor already, so I think it's time to move on. I agree we should spend time testing blizzard and life drain to figure out it's effects on our team. We can also test out Cherchiel and Boarchiels new strength! There's got to be some large boulders around to test lifting or pushing around?

After a training montage I agree we need to head to the monarchs throne... Although I have to wonder if there's two exits to this floor as well like the last? Maybe one of the bottom paths has an exit?

Also I could change my mind if the mist is gone from the dream path? Actually... Ok can we attempt this? When we entered the dream path we fell asleep it seems. Could Yulia enter in a little ways while the others watch? If Yulia falls asleep then we know the dream path is possibly still dangerous. If she remains awake and we find no mist then we could explore a bit more. The ascension path sounded interesting and could be an exit.

I recommend now training montage, then everyone spread far apart. Yulia enter first while the others keep each other in line of sight. If the person in front falls asleep stop and wait a bit for them to recover. A rope on Yulia in front could be used to pull her back. Cherchiel go second, Goma next keeping Cherchiel in view, then finally Isalia.

If good then go to the ascension path and let's see what we find!
 
All good, i would have perhaps liked to see the ascension path, but we're here now dealing with some spiders.

Ok we are out of fire grenades so we need to not get stuck! Spider webs are really tough, don't assume you can break it by pulling Cherchiel, even with your new strength. If anyone gets stuck focus on slashing with a sword.

I feel the best way forward is groups of 2. Cherchiel lead watching ahead and the footing. Yulia with a hand on Cherchiels's back watch the sides and curling for ambushes. Same for Isalia and Goma, follow group 1 with Goma in front watching the floor and Isalia watching sides and ceiling.

Also, Cherchiel please be careful with that new strength! Please don't squish Yulia during a hug DX

We still don't know if Cherchiel or Isalia are mimics
We have no way of dealing with the mist and might get seperated without warning.
We got what we wanted out of it already


The whole thing is just such a complete death trap that I can't in good conscience justify going there.

Psh, Yulia killed a spider all on her one back in floor two. This will be easy.

Incidentally Yulia, do these spiders look like the one you fought before?

Fire would certainly come in handy here, but since it doesn't look like there are any torches here we just have to remain vigilant.

Perhaps I should clarify, I didn't really intend this to lead into "lets kick the floor boss ass!" right away. This was more supposed to be a reconnaissance run.
 
I do totally get it! I am slightly bummed, because I mean of course I am, but I totally get the decision. The Dream path is intentionally very difficult and dangerous and there was always the possibility the players were going to choose not to risk it, but of course it is still depressing that the work I put in isn't going to be seen. That's just an aspect of this game though. There's always the chance the players will simply choose to avoid things and not take risks.

I mean it was entirely possible that you could have completely skipped the Beast stuff on the last floor which would have also avoided pretty much all the Tower Below stuff I have planned and of course since you didn't go the forest path last floor everything I had planned for the forest floor is a wash, but if you had gone forest, everything planned for the Deep that you are experiencing now would have been unseen instead. It's just how things go. :D
 
I wanted to complain about why the fuck we didn't get to weight in on that fight.

But then I realized it was probably because Yulia was incapacitated, right?

That's a big oof.

So, time for that repair spell to come in handy. Lets fix all our clothes.

Next we have to decide if we want to press onwards(means chugging a mana potion) or go back to town to rest. If we do that we might run into spiderhell again, so yeah...

So Spiders...GREAT. Not sure what to make of this, guess we just have to deal with the complications when they come.


And also, we have to unfortunately adress another point of discussion

Why didn't Isalia's trap expert trigger?

Was it because it wasn't a trap set by Knocker? Perhaps, but it is just one more of the mounting pile of circumstantial evidence


On the flip side, we now do have a reason to go back in the dream path. Because I believe there is now a decent chance that Isalia is held captive there.

So, yeah, im for getting back to town, resting and then heading towards the dream path with a focus on acension, provided warider is still on board with it
 
Well mostly because that, but also because the fight is an automatic trigger if the trap was triggered the idea being that if the trap is triggered a fight starts automatically, I dunno I didn't think it made sense to split it up in this situation because the idea that all of this would have happened so quickly... Maybe that was a bit unfair though. Sorry. Also a lot of things didn't trigger because Cherchiel was chosen to be in front. Isalia couldn't check for traps since she was behind Cherchiel and Yulia. Trauma only affects yulia.

The idea was two groups moving in single file with Cherchiel chosen to be in front, correct? I didn't misunderstand that. As a result, only Cherchiel was capable of actually dealing with the webs, so only her ability to check for traps was triggered.
 
I agree with the outcome... We honestly missed a lot and really just needed to burn the path forward. There was no positives going for us, but I'm not sure what we need just like the dream path.

Well... I'm glad everyone is still alive. Everyone I know that was rough, to say the least. But we can still keep going, we all know the risks of following and being the Chosen so I won't harp on it too much.

However Yulia, we have an issue! So 2 ranks in bondage make you completely at the mercy of some webs? I want to be upset but I know the tower is a powerful being and I was just not aware how debilitating that was. Going forward we will be sure to keep this in mind.

That being said, the spider path which will probably lead to the driders full of webs is no longer a good choice at all! If Yulia was crippled by normal spiders there's no way she's holding up to a drider.

This floor has proven challenging for our team, but we must preserveir! I agree we should rest, repair, and possibly deal with our egg issue... Isalia is there something we could do in town to remove these eggs? I can think of some extreme measures but let's avoid that if possible.

I actually don't believe that Isalia is a mimic anymore by the way. That was not a trap to disarm, but an environmental hazard.

I say let's head to the ascension path, we will be careful of mimics there and i recommend rope tying again to make sure we know who's who. If we find means to burn a path of the spiders then we can consider it again.

Also Cherchiel, Isalia, and Goma you did well to try and hold them off. Don't be discouraged, the Chosen along with us voices let you down.
 
Ok voice message aside. I agree with the outcome like I said. I didn't think the webs would effect Yulia as bad 1, but I also did think that just because she's the front of the line that the others would still help.

I forgot the spear issue, but assumed if in trouble she would ask for a sword. I figured Cherchiel's strength would help her get unstuck if she stepped wrong, but Yulia threw that out.

As for the fight, I agree there was really nothing to be done since Yulia was out of it. As an ambush it is over too fast to actually react to, so it's up to the passive bonuses that we already have. This challenge was lost when we failed the first roll, but i appreciate we had a second roll as a chance.

I would like to say that with these rolls being as high as the are for both paths, I'm not sure what more preparation we could do? Ideally we would like to proceed down a path where we at least have 50 50 odds of success, but right now it's dire in either direction? If we were struggling I wouldn't complain, but after gaining another member and a powerful spell and lots of items I'm not sure what else we could do?

Saying that i do understand that it's luck, and right now we have a bad team setup for the challenges we face. It may change next floor.

Also, good job with the writing :)
Not the biggest fan of eggs, but then I guess we shouldn't lose to spiders XD

It really was mostly pure bad luck and Cherchiel being out front. Yulia's fetish is definitely a problem, but shouldn't be an insurmountable problem and pretty much anyone else, including yulia herself out front would have helped. Spears are just not good for carefully dealing with webs, a slashing weapon like the rapier, the dagger or Isalia's sword which has never been specifically classified would help. Losing the first roll really did just fuck you over pretty badly, but you almost made that roll and not getting trapped will completely avoid any form of combat. That being said, finding a way to simply burn down the alveare would definitely help.
