Man it's almost like we already know this won't work... because we've specifically seen it's effect on a floor monster when the floor monster we got it from used it in the fight against it >.>

I do appreciate the attempt to circumvent this though.
 
The halo would be one thing if it could work, the cost would be clear: we're giving up a free revival. But I'm not sure I trust soul trapping and whatever price would be required. Would Alide really be the same? What price would Yulia have to pay to do this? No, I don't think it's worth it. And we absolutely can't risk Alide recovering and attacking us again so I don't think there's any other viable path. I think we've got no choice but to finish her.
 
I'm not in favour of risks, and Alide doesn't seem too positive on this option. Feel free to explain further, but I don't expect to be in favour.
 
Chiming in as an absolute sex fiend, my best guess is either Dahlia will want to fuck literally all the girls in return or keep her favorites for a couple of hours as her pets.

Probably getting released too if not asking to have Yulia do whatever she asks with some conditions to not absolutely stop her from progressing.

Not sure just how high Dahlia will put the price. Also I hope Alide's new body will be both cute and quite short. Having an adorable cheerleader sounds fun!

This sounds like a fun, chaotic way to write a story, letting readers steer the ship? Bold move. Can’t wait to see where this goes!
 
It is, and has been going on a sometimes meandering way for getting on 4 years (wow). I read through it and the associated comments before joining in, and it only made me want to yell into the past a couple of times (like the whole knocker lantern thing, for goodness don't pick both!)
 
This seems to be best we can hope for an Alide seems to be showing some interest in this. So I think we should accept the deal.
 
Well, Yulia isn't required to use said items so we can avoid the worst effects by having people who are less likely to be affected by a curse use the items. Going through the list, Obedience is a pain and something we don't want on anyone critical or too difficult to subdue/ignore but we may be able to bypass it with cleverly worded instructions, Famine is a non-issue as we have unlimited supplies of most things, Lust would be annoying but avoiding main decision makers and it's fine and it can just be regularly satisfied, Narcolepsy is a pain but much like obedience it can be mitigated by avoiding anyone too critical, Absentmindedness is a non issue (except for Yulia as magical artillery), Atrophy only effects people with combat power above weak (see Goma) but isn't likely to be that impactful on anyone anyway. So anyone we can afford to not keep in a fight can use these items with lower risk.

But I think we can do this with no risk to current members. The Soul Jar can be used to transfer your own soul in case you die, no need for the Soul Taker. So Alide uses the Soul Jar herself, taking on the curse herself. That allows us to kill her normally cutting out the Soul Taker entirely. The matter of a body could be done with a Golem, or we look for something else suitable to avoid the third curse. I presume this is the 1 demonic item method.

Supposing that doesn't work and we need to take on curses, Soul Taker is a weapon, so having available in future on a fighter is ideal so I think the best candidates (in no particular order) are Maple (only badly effected by Obedience), Sally, Lri, and Beck. The Soul Jar and optional Golem are not weapons so having them on a fighter is optional, if the curse from Soul Taker is obedience the same person should do these items too, otherwise a different person should. If someone does get hit with obedience, I think we should get the Golem too as each curse now reduces the risk to the party as a whole. I think my top choices for non weapon is Sally followed by Beck (because an unkillable Beck sounds like a pain), I don't suppose Sally has a hany off button?

I prefer the one item method with Alide taking the curse if it works, then at least looking for an alternative body before resorting to Golem (I don't suppose we can push that curse on Alide?). But if that one item version doesn't work I'm not in favour as it is a lot of cost for little to no practical benefit, but this isn't a decision based on anything practical so if you wish to do so anyway I won't object.

If Alide is willing to do this, and it counts as defeating her, This is the simplest solution. Also I wonder if we could substitute an undead for a golem. That way Alide could keep her own body, even if she was undead.

So yeah, assuming Boo's plan works this is pretty much the best solution. I don't really have anything more to add to that.

Well, except that I'm more a dump all curses on Beck kind of person. Mostly because it would be funny.

Haha, dumping all the curses on Beck does sound pretty hilarious, definitely the kind of chaotic energy that makes things interesting. But yeah, if Boo's plan works out, it seems like you've got a solid solution for Alide. Maple and Sally coming through with the teamwork!
 
I suspect Alide can't go with the 1 item plan due to the Tower restricting her actions (not letting her kill herself, even if she's almost dead). It'd probably be the best option, but I don't see it working. I'm not a big fan of tossing a bunch of curses around the party, but I'll defer to the majority opinion in that regard. We have to make the call on the Soul Taker and Soul Jar now, but we can put off discussing the Golem and whether to use it. After all, one of the Domains here has the level of tech Maple and Sally can use to make a new body, and we don't necessarily need Alide as an immediate battle asset. Some of the other Domains might have options as well, the Mother of Monsters seems viable in that regard.
