Gambio, don't throw me under the bus! You nearly got us into a fight with the mermaids.

Also, I looked over the earlier chapters and didn't see any mention of the sirens already being engaged in combat. Although I might have just glanced over it. If they haven't been attacked yet, we should go there first and tell them the mermaids are willing to work as an alliance. That should give them a fighting chance against the Sahuagin.

But if the Sahuagin have made a move, we'll probably have to sneak into their castle and go after their king since he's probably the one who has Isalia. And if we take him down, that should end the war.

For the Goddess: If I recall correctly, there was a peace treaty established by the previous Chosen that was broken by the presence of the Salesman. What did they do to set that treaty up? (Also curious about any details about the Chosen who came immediately before us, since we may run into them ahead.)

Hmmm, all of this stuff on the previous Chosen is interesting. I'll be sure to update my notes. But that's not an immediate concern. For now, I think we should head back to the Sirens, tell them about the alliance with the Mermaids, and then prepare to attack the Sahuagin. Although, if they're waiting for something... Could they be waiting for us to try and rescue Isalia? Or is this somehow connected to the plan to bring Levateinn back to this floor?

Alright Lemiel, with the girls all fucked up we need you to keep them in line. So, stop being invisible and cheer them up.

I'm a firm believer in the saying that it is easier to ask for forgiveness then permission, so I say we handle the Siren later.

Hm, based on that it appears the fishpeople are waiting for us to make our move first. Aqua most likely told them.

This complicates matters. We can't exactly just play the waiting game either since we don't know what they do to Isalia.

    ...

Lemiel I believe it is time you tell us that plan of yours. I don't think Aqua expects us to come after him now. Switching targets might benefit us more

I don't think we should go after Aqua yet unless Lemiel has a very convincing plan. We had a fighting chance when it was 5 against 1, and we were fully equipped. But with this party, I don't see a path to victory for us.

I will admit... I somehow completely forgot Lemiel was supposed to be with them for all that... Um... I'll handwave that in the next chapter somehow >.>

    FUCK FUCK FUCK...

You know, I expected this but didn't want to be rude lol

And yeah definitely comes down what Lemiel has to offer.

The first thing we should do is run to the Sirens and cement an alliance between them and the Mermaids. After Aqua is defeated, we'll still have to free Isalia from the Sahuagin, and that could serve as a tool for us to pressure them into giving her back without a fight.

As for Aqua himself, I think going after him is the right call. If we take advantage of his lack of mobility and ranged attacks, we probably have better odds than trying to bust into the Sahuagin castle. That said, I'm torn between two potential plans. The first: We rush in, and use Unlock and/or Puppet to free Cherchiel immediately, to create an advantage in numbers. Second plan: Yulia goes in alone, but when Aqua tries to use the sword on her, Goma will use Puppet on Yulia to counteract it, and she and Lri join the fight.

    Oh, excellent work Lemiel!

It goes without saying that if we do defeat Aqua first we are having a massive advantage.

In the last fight Aqua choose Isalia, which seemed a rather random target. But I believe that was the case because he thought he was in control and was playing around with us

If we attack him as per this plan he will not have that luxury.

I imagine he will go after Lemiel as he perceives her as the biggest threat, that is of course if he doesn't know about Goma's puppet ability, which is certainly an issue.

There are a few other issues we need to consider

-he can only target one person at a time but that doesn't mean that he is limited to one person. I imagine Aqua can switch targets

-we don' t know if puppet is strong enough to counteract the blade of envy

-our ranged attacks consist of Yulia and that's it

-we can't dismiss the chance that he may have fish people back up

-he might have access to our items, most of them won't do him any good, but stuff like the poison grenade could be an issue

-he could use the blade on cherchiel and send a fully equipped Cherchiel up towards us

-I probably should stop giving engin ideas

Before I comit to my idea, engin can you give us a list of items we have acess to? I think Goma has her stuff right? What about Lri and Lemiel?

Lri has her daggers, but her swimsuit is missing, Lemiel has no specific items on her, but still has her summonable weapons which consist of her light blades, Goma has her equipment. Yulia has nothing.

We used Puppet against him in the first fight, although it could only stall him for a bit with each use, so he definitely knows about it. We should probably operate under the assumption that he knows everything about our abilities that Cherchiel does, there are any number of ways he could've gotten that info out of her.

    Ah shit

Just to make sure, that means we are dealing with x4 mana cost for Yulia right? Since the description says it's still halved

Oh Lri is still naked? Probably should get a swimsuit for her then

    Alright

Still not a fan of showing up by the Siren's now. We just royally screwed up and Queeni won't get her pet that she wanted. Worst case she demands Lri back, which would kinda suck in our situation

I am however fine with talking to them after we killed Aqua but before finishing off the fishpeople Don't worry I have an angle.

So, the Aqua fight, as stated this is a tricky situation

I don't like sending Yulia in alone, because Cherchiel is there, so this would most likely result inAqua using the blade on Yulia and her attacking Cherchiel, perhaps even going into close range.

I agree that Aqua most likely is aware of our abilities. At the very least he should know that Goma has puppet since we used it in the last fight. So, assuming he isn't a moron he will target Goma.

Well, lets use that against him shall we?

All we have to do is deplete Goma's magic before the fight.

Or perhaps, we deplete her magic just enough that she has one single use for puppet left, which we then immediately unleash on Aqua

Of course in this situation we should hand over Goma's dagger to Yulia

By doing so, all we have to deal with is one angry, but weak Gobbo

    Alright so:

Goma deplete your mana until you have exactly one use of puppet left. I would usually say to have some fun with it but the situation is probably a bit too serious for that

First things first, Yulia pop your magic orb for that 100% increase in mana

Goma you use your last remaining mana to puppet Aqua to the best of your ability

    Yulia, cast Undermine on Aqua

Then unleash a barrage of Force Lance, Icicle ,Blizzard and life drain on the fucker

Now, If didn't suck at math we should have one more use of Energize left, which should either go to Lri or Lemiel, altough we should wait with that until we see who Aqua targets with his envy first

Lri and Lemiel you two will subdue Goma once she gets targeted by the blade(or anyone else for that matter)

Of course anyone should stay out of Aqua's range.

Oh right... You know I weirdly forgot the halved mana thing came from a ring and wasn't some kind of passive ability... Yeah it should not be halved anymore then. So, 4x mana costs or double normal mana cost I guess.

  15. Miss-Emmie

    Miss-Emmie Experienced

To be fair to you, Yulia has accrued quite a few passive abilities and magic items over the course of her climb. Keeping track of which is which is no small task by this point.
I'm nervous about this, but I'll agree to Gambio's plan. It's high risk but high reward: If we manage to win, we'll get Cherchiel and our inventory back. Between that and the Sahuagin suddenly losing their advantage, we can get Isalia back.

LE-MIE-EL! LE-MIE-EL! LE-MIE-EL! That was an absolutely insane finisher. We really couldn't have done this without you, Lemiel, so thank you for fighting alongside us again.

I'm so glad this fucker is dead. I was super nervous we'd come up short. But with him gone, the Sahuagin are weakened. I think we should go to the Sirens, tell them the Mermaids want an alliance, and make our move to rescue Isalia.

  18. TheLeherengin

    TheLeherengin Really Really Experienced

So, fun fact... I actually screwed up and forgot to add Lemiel and Goma having zero Mana to the thing and Yulia actually lost by like 5 or so points and I was like oh no... Luckily realized my mistake. Also realized I had accidentally described him using an attack at range in the previous fight and fixed that as well.

  19. Gambio

    Gambio CHYOA Guru

Yeah, I was expecting things to go sour given the lateness of the post lol

This definitely came down the the wire, altough i would argue that Aqua shouldn't have had the +5 hardened skin, since this was a fight without any physical attacks.

That demonic weapon certainly sounds useful, the question is if it comes at the same price as a demonic spellbook, we should definitely cast identify on it before we give it to anyone. It might also be a good idea to cast it on Cherchiel to make sure there isn't anything still lingering on her.

Yulia, make sure to wear the ring again and I guess in general lets just equip back to the way everyone was before Aqua got us.

After that, yup we can head over to the Siren's and cement that alliance.

Also Lri, don't ruin this for me, remember, I have an angle.

The hardened skin also still affected things like blunting the full effect of icicle and stopping it from being able to pierce.
